It probably depends on your model, but mine is in the water reservoir, inside a plastic holder. They look like the item pictured here: https://www.amazon.com/12-Pack-KEURIG-Water-Filters-Replacement/dp/B01DLEL4EM/ref=pd_lpo_79_tr_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAEN087TXZWDY4AC1TJH

You're supposed to replace them every 2 months, so if it's been a while, I'm guessing that's the cause of your issue.
