Applied it on my Xbox account and now I can't purchase anything with it.
You can buy Xbox gift cards on Amazon. According to the reviews, you get immediate access to the code. I imagine Amazon won't have any issues with your US-issued debit card.

If you're after Witcher 3, I believe the sales at the moment have it for pretty cheap here ($25 USD).
If you're outside of the USA, buy a pre-paid code from Amazon and follow the instructions they give you. Should save you a few dollars and avoid having to deal with dodgy websites!

Sadly, you can't just buy a Great White Shark card(or any other cash card) for Xbox. Your best bet would be to buy one of these.
