Hell, the GoTY edition is on sale at Amazon for $20 and it comes with Civ IV:Complete and some Stronghold games.
You can spend twenty bucks on Amazon and get both Civ 4 complete, Civ 5 GOTY, and The Stronghold Collection - this is probably the most bang for your buck at the minute.
Unfortunately does not include G&K though.
Alternatively, you could spend $12 for Civ 4 Complete and normal (not GOTY) Civ 5, found here.
Gods and Kings is 25% off at Greenmangaming, and if you "buy" their free game today, you'll get a coupon for 20% off anything until the end of July, so you could pick up Gods and Kings for $18 even...

Guys, which of these are the better in terms of value? Amazon's 2K Strategy Pack, or this deal? Stronghold or Civ III?
Just FYI, keep your eyes on Amazon sales too. They have 2k Strategy Pack with Civ 4 complete, Civ 5 GOTY and Stronghold Collection for $19.99. Bioshock 1&2 pack is for $7.5 (I don't think steam can go lower with this). Both of these packs can be activated on Steam.

Generally, whenever I commit to a game series, I do it the right way. Like you, I'll be waiting until it (hopefully) becomes a Daily Deal..
If the GOTY edition becomes a Daily Deal, I'll definitely get it. There's a lot of extra content, and I think you'd probably feel like you're missing out if you didn't get them all. It doesn't seem like that much extra money anyhow.

There's also the 2k strategy pack at $20. It includes Civ V GOTY (where as Civ V in the bundle is not GOTY), Civ IV and the stronghold collection. There are two versions, one where civ 4 and stronghold are drm free, the other where they are on steam (I believe that Civ V can be downloaded either way on both packs).

Its been like that for a while. They had a pack up with civ4/5 and stronghold 1 and 2 for about $20 that was all steam redeemable. not sure if it still exists..

looks like its still good. they all redeem on steam. That's the one I got. Never played stronghold, but even if they suck, its still a pretty good deal.
I got Civ5 with Civ4 and the Stronghold Collection from Amazon for $19.99. I played Civ5 for nine or ten hours yesterday.

Anywho, as far as individual titles.
Total War Series: I recommend Medieval 2 Total War. Some pretty cool mods for it (eg LOTR) and it always seemed like the most fun to me.
Civilization Series: Civ IV is a bit harder to get into, in my opinion, whereas Civ V is more streamlined + casual. I'm not too big into the Civ series like I used to be with the Total War series, so I'd say get whichever seems more appealing to you. If you're interested in Civ I'd highly recommend that pack, I just got it the other day!
No worries. This link has the Amazon sale, which is a great deal if you have a strong interest in trying both Civ V and IV. Otherwise, definitely wait and see if they do 75% off.
Just remember that GOTY Civ V (which is in the above bundle) is missing Korea & Ancient Wonders, if you feel like being complete.
If you want both Civ 4 and 5, this will be your best deal. It also comes with the Stronghold collection, so that's a bonus. All three games activate on Steam. Just redeem the keys on Steam and download through Steam. No since in downloading from Amazon.
