Yeah I would absolutely disagree. There's nothing wasteful about this shit. In bulk, they're basically free. Environmentally speaking, I create more waste in a single trip to McDonald's than I do in a year with these plugs. I keep assorted reusable hearing protection in my shoot bag, but frequently it's not enough for me and my guests or it somehow finds its way out of the bag and I don't realize it until I'm 20 miles down a dirt track in the Mojave. Luckily I keep a big box of these foam fuckers around so none of us have to compromise our hearing to have fun.

Reusable plugs are just the kind of shit I gladly pay a premium to avoid; the "brain tax" on 'where the fuck is that coin-sized box?' would drive me crazy. Throw a handful of cheap plugs in the glove box--problem solved.

It's like socks. You could buy some nice socks that are reusable, sustainable, good for the indigenous peoples of wherever. Fuck that. Get me a big fucking bag of matching black socks made in the cheapest most environmentally unsound way possible. I just don't want to expend the mental energy to think about my sock status on a daily basis. I know that whenever I get home, I have a big fucking drawer of clean, matching socks waiting for me.

25 bucks. No extra wrapping waste. Protect your and your accompanying friends' hearing for the next 3-6 years. Bring these bad boys with you when you go into a concert venue and you've made new friends. I love when I can pay $25 for something and not have to worry about X part of my life for 5 years. Can't put a price on that. Or rather, I could, but it's a lot more than $25.

>Sunglasses are cheap and even a $20 or 30 pair can last years. Going without them for the sole reason of saving a few bucks is odd.

Yeah that was the point of my posting the anecdote.

And neither is bringing 200 pairs of ear plugs for $25? C'mon.

I've slept with ear plugs for years and love it. Though I buy 3M $25 for 200 pair.

I use these earplugs and they work well. Definitely look at the dB rating for the ones you're using. It's hard for me to hold a conversation at a traffic light, but I can hear sirens, horns, etc while riding.

These have a 29dB reduction rating.

If you think that's good you should try expandable foam ear plugs. These are what we use at my work and once they've expanded in your ear, it's orgasmic just to move it around in there...
