Not sure if this would work, but I use these on the front face of my watch and they're great.
Might be worth a try to see if they fit on the back (depends on the size and interference with the HR monitor).
I had one take a direct hit, chipped the protector, saved the screen. Just a potential precaution if it's an everyday risk for you.

I forgot it was installed. Checked and confirmed it's still there. Obviously since I forgot there's zero touch issues, and I never notice the edge without looking for it.
