My favorite overviews of Korean history encompass more than one book:

A Review of Korean History Series by Han Young Woo.

  • Volume 1: Ancient/Goryeo Era
  • Volume 2: Joseon Era
  • Volume 3: Modern/Contemporary Era

Sources of Korean Tradition by Yongho Ch'oe,
Peter H. Lee, William Theodore de Bary
  • Volume 1: From Early Times Through the Sixteenth Century
  • Volume 2: From the Sixteenth to the Twentieth Centuries

While you can get something that covers all of Korean history in one book it's obviously not going to be anywhere near as in-depth or cover as many topics. Korea Unmasked struck me as overly simplistic and I didn't enjoy some of the presentation but it is a short read.

I have yet to check it out myself, but A Korean History for International Readers: What Do Koreans Talk About Their Own History and Culture? is by "The Association of Korean History Teachers" so that might be worth perusing if you can find a copy. Another one I haven't read that may appeal to you as a single book is A Concise History of Korea: From Antiquity to the Present by Michael J. Seth.

I'm almost ordering the Michael J Seth one, but he did a revised edition called A Concise History of Korea. Thinking in buy this one instead. After read some pieces of China and Japan history, I want to learn about Korea's too.
