Try this Book of Mormon version that has all the same words, but in a way that tells the stories clearly. https://www.amazon.com/New-Approach-Studying-Book-Mormon/dp/0998717800

This is the same idea, but is on the web: http://www.grandpadave.com/BookOfMormon/Book_Of_Mormon.aspx

>I don't have a Book of Mormon... because those are copyrighted

The 1920 edition is out of copyright protection and can be used. This version for example is based on the 1920 edition so it could be printed and sold.

This is a very good observation but someone has beat you to the punch. Dr. Lynn Rosenvall and his son made this discovery years ago. They developed the theory that the animals and plants brought to the new world would need a similar climate as the old world. There are other factors that they also use to determine where the Book of Mormon took place based on geography that are just as interesting. Here is a link to their site.

They have also published a Book of Mormon that has some unique features that is worth a look.

I would also highly recommend "A New Approach to Studying the Book of Mormon." Instead of splitting it into chapters like in the traditional version, it focuses more on splitting the book by story. So for example, the table of contents to this version of the BOM reads much more like a traditional book ("The story of Nephi building a ship," "Nephi finds the Liahona," etc. for example) rather than just "Book of First Nephi," "Book of Second Nephi," etc. It also has margins that always list who is speaking and when/where the events you are reading take place. https://www.amazon.com/New-Approach-Studying-Book-Mormon/dp/0998717800
