The analogy that I like best to help understand the trinity is that of an author writing a book. Let's say he writes himself into the book and acts just as he really would within the situations he puts himself in. And this author creates characters for the book not based on real individuals, and then his character within the book interacts with them.
The author writing the book overlooks the whole of the world within the book. The character who is the author in the book interacts directly with other characters, but is not omniscient. The other characters that are not the author still have something of the author in them, though they are not him. All three of these manifestations of the author exist in harmony.

I got this analogy from the book A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken, and here is a blogger who copypastaed the section I'm talking about.

Reminds me also of the story of the Vanaukens (http://www.amazon.com/A-Severe-Mercy-Sheldon-Vanauken/dp/0060688246).

Frankly, I'd prefer a scenario in which I don't have to die first... :/
