I would think that the LG 34UC88-B which has been coming down in price lately would be a good mix between style, gaming, and general media consumption. I owned one for about 6 months and always got compliments on it when friends and guests came over.

It can be overclocked to 75hz and if you get a newer RX 470/480 video card you will be able to utilize the Freesync technology quite well with it. I drank the team green kool-aid so I ended up trading out for the ASUS PG348Q monitor for Christmas. It can be found for the mid-to-high $600's if you're patient. They're currently $799 on Amazon or BHPhotoVideo(tax free outside NY).

Before anyone jumps on this "deal," do your DD.

EDIT: I did not realize this was a newer model as pointed out by another user. I was merely trying to point out that the original price on Newegg might have been inflated. Hence "do your DD."

Edit : My bad. Didn't see the Acer vs Predator logo. It might also be the non-Freesync version at the same price point.

There's this fella for FreeSync: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JYT9L4I/

The Z35P also came out recently if you fancy G-Sync. No equivalent (in terms of refresh rate) for FreeSync it seems though.

I just got the freesync acer monitor for $800 and though technology is coming around its safe to assume if you spend less than $1000 now you won't regret it assuming it is something that you want and have the setup to support it.

When I say this I use the 1440p ROG swift as a metric as this monitor has been out for some time (it was around when I built my computer in Feb 2015) and I had originally looked at it before building assuming if I got an Nvidia card the price would drop. Come years later the price hasn't changed all that much and I feel ultrawides and other curved monitors are even less of the market share than the ROG swift is so if you find one that you like and can afford it I would put money on this market not shifting significantly in coming years i.e. paying $1400 now and $600 in two months for the same monitor.

Check price trends on pcpartpicker and look for any sales or preowned monitors if you want a better deal.

If you are wondering this is the one that I went for after a lot of research: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JYT9L4I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

FreeSync monitors run about $100 to $300 less than GSync. You can use an nvidia GPU with a FreeSync monitor however the adaptive techology (FreeSync) will not activate. It performs like a monitor without GSync.

Is this the kind of deal you're talking about on monitors?

Any red flags on this one, some sort of key feature that's missing that I might not know about? If not, I love that the price is only about $80 more than the one I currently own, for WAY more screen real estate. For my purposes, as long as the color is accurate and there won't be any noticeable performance issues working with footage or graphics, I'm usually satisfied.

Haven't used newegg flash before. Looks pretty good. Bottom line for most 1440p Ultrawides is $550, and this is slightly above that. Only small gripe is I prefer less curvature and this is 1900R.

I'm confused why the Amazon page for the model Link-$678 lists the response time as 5ms not 1ms.

Deal went live today at 9am PST and will last 7 days unless it sells out. I'm planning on buying it, unless anyone else sees something?
