Buy [this] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6) and backup your 3DS save files.

u/Dubiono · 7 pointsr/smashbros

Have you tried getting a Powersave for 3DS?

http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6

That would probably reduce your unlock time.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Yes, with a ton of work, dedication, and actual real-life money spent, and the right 3DS firmware version.

SUPER LONG ANSWER: Yes, with Homebrew (currently not feasibly achievable with the current firmware version), a PowerSaves device, the proper firmware version (reiterating because it is literally impossible to do on some of the more recent ones). Some valuable resources, in a short form, are this 3DS Homebrew guide, this PowerSaves device purchase page, and this encouraging potato. More than likely, if you're running the proper firmware version, you'll only be able to use OoTHax, which uses an exploit with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (cartridge only, sorry). So here's a purchase page for that, too. Both a Nintendo Selects version and a non-Nintendo Selects version will work, as long as it's a cartridge.

And that's just the basics to get your Homebrew working properly. You'll need the Save Manager Homebrew App, which can be downloaded from a link in this reddit thread in order to export the save data from the 3DS to your SD card, and then this beautiful site in order to actually edit your save data. Since you're only going for a backup, though, I'd recommend just saving the files put onto your SD card by Save Manager (something like garden.dat, exhibition.dat, etc.) and tucking them away in a folder somewhere on your computer. After you backup your files on your computer, you are free to delete your town as you wish and start anew. When you want to return to the old town, just backup your current town's files to your computer, and put the old town's files onto your SD card.

And, uh, one more thing, which I'm going to bold and italics because it's extremely important, no matter which route you go for save backing-upping: Nintendo was VERY smart about the way Animal Crossing: New Leaf deals with save data, and because of this, every single save has it's own unique key. If, for some reason, the game is expecting a key for one save (your most recent one, let's just say) and it gets a key for a different save (a random example being someone else's saves), the game will delete all the data, and wipe the keys, making it only possible to restart ALL over without any way of recovering or restoring from any prior backups. The site I linked you to has a way to make sure that any save put through it can sync up with the current save key, and the Save Manager Homebrew app does, to my best understanding of many uses of it, automatically sync the keys up. I think. I've never really had any problems, and I'm telling you almost 100% exactly how I do it, so you probably won't have any problems either.

(coughs) Did I go a little bit too far there? Nevertheless, everything you need to do is contained within this post.

This little gizmo right here:
http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6

Apparently it's been out a while, but only recently have X and Y codes started working on it.

u/remiarutawa · 2 pointsr/powersaves3ds

it doesn't matter so much if you get one that's the wrong region, you can email the company and fix it. just don't buy the pro version, it's more expensive and it's the exact same thing as the regular.

I got mine off of amazon, it was the correct region(us) and I've had no problems.

edit: this is what I got. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CQ9L1Z6

Take care that the one on fnac is a bit overpriced. I bought this one on amazon (the standard option) with urgent shipping and 1-day delivery (I was a bit impatient) and it cost me something like 24 € altogether. (Shipped to Portugal)

PS: I use the european version too.

u/igromanru · 2 pointsr/powersaves3ds

I don't really know what they are doing. But a "none Pro" version is also available for 5 less €. ¯\(ツ)

u/Dalidon · 2 pointsr/3DS

Idk man, depends on where you live. Here's an Amazon link so you know what it looks like https://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6

It's not a guarantee it will work for what you want though. I've never used one of these things. If you decide it's worth it and will get one, you might want to ask around on /r/3dshacks if they know how to achieve it.

u/HazMan1988 · 2 pointsr/3dshacks

Does anyone know if the standard version of Action Replay Power Saves will work as it's half the price of the pro version.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502588069&sr=8-1&keywords=ACTION+REPLAY+POWERSAVES

u/Holly164 · 2 pointsr/pokemon

Buy one of these or these (depending which is available/cheaper in your country - the devices are identical, just different packaging). It only works with a physical cartridge of the game, not the digital download version.

There is always a danger with cheat devices that you may harm your cartridge and/or save file. Use at your own risk, and if you do decide to use it, always back up your save file before using cheats. I wouldn't recommend using it on any game you'd be devastated to lose, except to take backups in case of emergency (i.e. using the device to read from the game should be fine, but writing to it can be dangerous).

If you just want it for the Eon ticket, try looking into Homepass instead.

u/iadrummer · 2 pointsr/pokemon

This one on amazon seems to have some eu flags on the packaging. Other than that it might be on the label. The powersaves site shows a distinct difference on what each can do, usually no difference but eu seems to get codes first and then the us a few weeks later.

u/Kinnikufan · 2 pointsr/PokemonPlaza

[Here] (http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6)

Powersave is a cheating device that allows you to backup your games on a computer with a handy little 3DS cartridge adaptor. It also has a bunch of codes loaded into the program that goes with it that allows you to modify pokemon (make them shiny, change IVs, change the ball they were caught in, etc.). I payed about $20 on Amazon for mine. I know others got theirs in Game Stop stores. It's all explained pretty well on the little note paper that comes with the product.

u/Skore_Smogon · 2 pointsr/SVExchange

You can use retail carts as well but you require a piece of 3rd party hardware - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394373293&sr=8-1&keywords=powersaves+3ds

This allows you to extract, back-up and restore your save files and it's these extracted Save Files that KeySav can read to determine SVs for you and your eggs.

u/AetherPrismriv · 2 pointsr/SKY3DS

Yes, the header is only checked when you try to play online.

See here for a video tutorial. Here for a written guide. If you have a powersave then you can extract the header from a official online game that you have and use the header for all games on the sky3ds+ with the 'DEFAULT_GAMESAVE_KEY=' line.

This is a powersave.

See here for a thread that explains these settings. The header is a bunch of numbers and letters with exactly 32 characters, no spaces.

Headers will work on most, if not all, games. Some may not work, but those are usually isolated/rare cases.

They (until Nintendo does some kind of overhaul) do not expire. They will work on any console for any period of time.

BUT, you can not use the same header on two different consoles at the same time. (This means you can use the same header on different consoles, but make sure that the other is not playing online at the same time.)

EDIT: I also sent you a PM.

Your TSV is 0494.

Here is the action replay. The lowest priced seller changes a lot so make sure you check "More buying choices".

Here is the wiki article on checking eggs with the action replay. You need Keysav, which you can get here.

u/Elbryan629 · 1 pointr/pokemontrades

One of the fastest ways to get boxes full of shinys. Go to /r/SVExchange and purchase a game saver and you can check the Egg Shiny value. Then on the svexchange forum you find a person who's four digit Trainer Shiny Value matches your egg and they will hatch it and give it back to you and it will be shiny.

u/Relentedd · 1 pointr/relaxedpokemontrades

Yeah, you need this cord to be able to get them

u/RHeegaard · 1 pointr/pokemontrades

If you live in Europe, you can get it via Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CQ9L1Z6/

That's where I bought it! :)

u/JordanTH · 1 pointr/pokemon

Like this? Will I need the software download too?

u/thatwaffleskid · 1 pointr/3dshacks

Will any version of Powersaves work for OOT3Dhax or does it have to be the pro version? For instance, will this one work?

u/Navtec · 1 pointr/3dshacks

Can this version of Ocarina of Time + a PowerSaves3DS be used as a primary hack to get homebrew onto a never before exploited New 3DSXL running firmware 11.2.0-35E?

I've been led to believe it can, but the game seems awfully cheap when contrasted with the likes of Cubic Ninja / Freaky Deluxe.

u/Santropez13 · 1 pointr/3dshacks

So for oot+powersaves these ones are fine right? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6

u/xAlcaranx · 1 pointr/3dshacks

What is the difference between this, this or that?
Would I be able to edit saves on OoT with "Pokemon edition" powersaves (first one)?

u/Jacobone · 1 pointr/3dshacks

Unfortunatley, I'm not in that area. However you can use powersaves and do it yourself for about $20 (probably cheaper than food/money)

u/SnowyNow · 1 pointr/3dshacks

Would this damage or hinder the Zelda game or saves in any way?

Well, kind of, insofar as: You can only have the hacked save on the cartridge, it takes up all the room you have so the cartridge won't be usable for regular play. If you delete the hacked save, you can play the cartridge normally again with no ill effects.

And what Powersaves Device would I need specifically?

This one works.

Would doing this cause me to not be able to use internet features in acnl?

Absolutely not. A lot of people in the Reddit ACNL community use hacked towns to hold mass giveaways and the like. There is no way to tell a hacked item/villager from a regular one, they function in exactly the same ways and will not harm your game in any way.

u/pancak · 1 pointr/3dshacks

You can do (1) with the game + powersaves, which costs about $30 I think. So a total of about $50 in the US.

https://www.amazon.ca/3DS-Action-Replay-Powersaves-Datel/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6

To be honest, if you're quite computer illiterate, paying someone to do it for you isn't necessarily nonsense.

I hope you get everything worked out the way you want! :)

u/Lotusx21 · 1 pointr/PokemonPlaza

I think I wasn't clear posting this, I bought this thingy.

u/Dafondo · 1 pointr/pokemon

IIRC, if you have a digital copy, the save files should be located on your SD card. You could copy those over and start a new game. (See Below)

If you have a physical cartridge, you'll have to purchase a Powersaves (here or here depending on your region).

If you're not worried about losing items, you can just transfer your Pokemon to Bank.

u/SlarkMyrl · 1 pointr/3dshacks

So this one, right ? https://www.amazon.it/Datel-Action-Replay-Powersaves-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467042092&sr=8-1&keywords=action+replay+powersaves

I'm reading the guide and it says

"This guide will work on New 3DS, Old 3DS, and 2DS in the EUR, JPN, or USA regions on firmware 11.0.0 or below."

Do I still need OOT+powersaves if it's on 10.6/.7 ?

Kinda, I guess? Here's a link

Wow, Action Replay. It's been a long time, since I used one of those :P .

I assume this is what you're talking about though: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1411296716&sr=1-1&keywords=datel+3ds

u/craniallyCarbonic · 1 pointr/3dshacks

Your options are: Freakyforms Deluxe, a Powersaves with a physical copy of either OoT, SMD, or ORAS, or a Sky3DS.

With Freakyforms, how it works is you scan a QR code that crashes the game and loads the homebrew launcher. With the Powersaves exploits, you write a hacked save to the cart, load the save, and then initiate a similar crash that's game-specific (e.g., changing your secret team name in ORAS). In both cases, the homebrew launcher needs to be copy/pasted to your SD card, adding boot.3dsx and /3ds/ to the root.

Edit: More info on the homebrew launcher is here. The exploits listed above are, in order, freakyhax, OoThax, SMChax, and basehax.

u/Umbreown · 1 pointr/SVExchange

Yup there is. Powersaves is a cheating device that works for the 3DS/3DS XL, just like the Action Replay works for a regular DS. Powersaves recently released Pokemon X and Y support. With this, people are able to get their savefiles onto their PCs, and using a program called KeySAV (made by /u/Kaphotics, the admin of Pokecheck) you can decrypt the data in your savefile and find out the SVs of your eggs :). I don't have powersaves yet but I managed to get someone to check this egg for me. You can buy powersaves here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6

Also, if you own a digital copy of X/Y instead of the cartdrige one, you don't need powersaves, you can easily export the save file onto your computer from your SD card. I was probably not very clear on how these methods work, but check the recent updates on the subreddit and you'll understand everything better :).

u/SonicvMario · 1 pointr/3dshacks

If I just want to install unsigned cias and stream to my PC do I just need to downgrade to 9.2 and install Luma3DS and NTR?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6 is this what I need to get for OOTHAX?

u/satanftw · 1 pointr/CasualPokemonTrades

Lol, thanks. I'm thinking very seriously about investing in one. I still haven't decided yet. Is [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6) what you have?

u/mainlylurkz · 1 pointr/SVExchange

Yes! They came back just a few weeks ago actually. KeySAV and Mass Dumper have made it all possible. If you have the digital copy it's all free. The retail copy needs a PowerSaves device. Those usually run for about $15 so it's not that bad.

EDIT: Cleaned up the links a little bit. The KeySAV and Mass Dumper links are from the Tools in the wiki. I found the cheapest PowerSaves on Amazon and it's apparently $18. The range seems more like $20~40 now. I'm sure you might be able to pick one up at your local gamestop for about 30 bucks.

u/er1c1996 · 1 pointr/3dshacks

This device, which allows you to put the oothax exploit onto an oot cart without any other hardware. It only works with oothax because all other exploits are for games that don't work with powersaves.
