I got it as a Christmas present this past year. Before I got it I would play with the laptop on my lap, and my thighs would be burning after gaming sessions.
I bought one of these from Amazon for $40 -- no velcro strap or fan, though.
I use it as a cheap standing desk. When I get tired of sitting, I unfold this, sit it on top my normal desk, and stand to work. Functions great for this use and a hell of a lot cheaper than spending hundreds on an adjustable desk.
