You can get an entry level 'Junior' developer gig but you have to do your homework:

Get a copy of "Advanced Apex Programming" forth edition by Dan Appleman.

Get a Developer.salesforce.com dev org going
Know StackExchange and check it daily for apex questions
Use the book, stackexchange, and your dev org and create/test code from stuff you see on StackExchange and/or automation you know about in your own org.

And Know that Apex/VisualForce development is very different than Lightning Development, stick with Apex/VF.
