Here's what we did to store our TI4 in the box. I stole the idea from user bigegg on the bgg forums in this thread--

Some of his details are incorrect and he has no references for what he actually used or bought, so that's what I'm doing here.

Everything all together was around $50.

We cut the planet tray out of the rest of the tray with a box knife, and we put the strategy cards atop one of the stacks of planets. The victory track we ended up moving to the top of the race boxes so it would lay flat. Other than that, the books and stuff sit on top of everything, and the box closes up no problem. It's considerably heavier than before due to all the added plastic, of course, but it's looking like cleanup and set up will be much easier with this method because all anybody will need to grab is their color box and their race box. Hope this helps!

Edit: Ah also forgot to mention--we sleeved everything in these. They are thinner than the FFG ones and therefore fit in our plastic cases:

I'm sure any 4 x 6 photo cases from hobby stores would work as well.

The original boxes for the 4 characters can be flattened on put against the side of the box so there is more space in your gloomhaven box and easily folded back to its original shape when those characters retire.

I use photo boxes from the craft store. I like it a lot, works well, I can organize easily. I have 4, each holds something different. Interchangeable in one, crochet hooks in another, misc in a third, and the 4th is all the stuff I use all the time (scissors, stitch markers, scraps of yarn, anything I'll actively need while working on a project so I don't have to fish through the other boxes.

I use a smaller version of this from Amazon. It's smaller and stackable. It does also have a large sized one.

Never thought about the fact that file folders may not be acid-free (and probably aren't)... off to Amazon!

Yes, that's true. I only want to keep the documents in file folders filed by last name. That's kind of why I'm searching for a better system for the photos. I like the box idea. I found these boxes on Amazon and I think that's what I'm going to do - have a box for each family name or something.

I'm looking for clear photo cases like this and I don't want to wait for delivery, are there stores that sell plastic containers like that?
