Not for me. I tried moderation probably hundreds of times. I ran a marathon. The euphoria of long distance training did help, but in the end it was awfully hard on my body and I had to give it up. Years on attempts at moderation became catastrophes with increasing frequency. Recently I found this book that I’ve recommended more than once because after that, it all made sense, and I gave it up. Alcohol Explained
