You could use a tutorial here. It is a lot easier to do than it seems. I will tell you, you need a keyboard, Raspberry Pi 3, and an SD Card. Once you get that, here is where you can download it.. Then, just follow the instructions on Instructable. You really do not have to pay someone, it is a lot easier than it seems. If you want, you can even get a retro case (or normal one like I did) and get a retro controller. PM me if you need more help (I won't charge you if you need help, it is really easy)!

Edit: Ill do yo a bigger favor. Here are the things you will need

Raspberry Pi 3

Raspberry Pi 3 Charger Kit. A powerful phone charger or micro usb adapter should work, but someone can let me know if I am wrong.

SD Card Raspberry Pi 3

Keyboard, though, you probably have one of these at home

Retro Controller, not required, but recommended

You will need at least an 8 GB SD Card, but I recommend 32 GB

Price has gone up to $13 now, but it has been worth every penny. Low profile, full size keyboard.

AmazonBasics Wired Keyboard $13.11

Dell KB216 $16.45

Cherry Stream 3.0 $25.99

The Stream keyboard has (laptop-style) scissor switches. Not sure about the Amazon one. The Dell doesn't, and is probably quieter because of that.

Mechanical keyboards have a mechanical means to activate the switchpress, rather than a "standard" keyboard that just have a little rubber dome. This gives you a more reliable keyboard that is more pleasant to type on. If that's not what you're into, then just buy a cheap multimedia keyboard on Amazon.

u/onliandone · 3 pointsr/computers

Yes. It has a Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1070 Ti, and with that at its core good components. Even a proper model of the 1070 Ti.

The build is not completely optimal: It misses a HDD (250GB SSD as storage is not enough) and the ram is slow, which is especially bad for a Ryzen processor.

Sadly for the buyer, you can buy the PC for less (with fast ram):

It's not a scam, it is just that the gpu got a lot cheaper, and maybe they paid unnecessarily more for the SSD, psu and board.

Do the peripherals make up for it?

  1. Senheiser Game one, $129
  • Logitech G413, $55, refursbished
  • G600, $40, refurbished
  • Logitech G13, $60, out of stock though and more expensive on Amazon

    Total: 1059 + 129 + 55 + 40 + 60 = 1343

So if you really want the peripherals and the PC itself work fine and you are okay with not being the original warranty holder (which is not always a problem, depends on the company) then the deal is okayish. Maybe not having to actually build the PC is even a plus in your eyes.

I would get the PC components new, add a HDD, and buy cheaper peripherals. Apart from the gameboard (do you want that?) my suggestions:

  • Corsair Gaming Harpoon, $28
  • Plugable Mechanical Keyboard, $54
  • HyperX Cloud Stinger, $49

Especially for the headset there could be different good options. Also the keyboard can be cheaper when not wanting a mechanical, even that Amazon basic keyboard is good enough to game on it for a few years.

> Keyboard: C'mon man. Don't be that guy. Plug any old USB keyboard into your PS4 and communicate. What's the point of the "Multiplayer" in MMO if you're not playing with others?

Keyboard is a MUST. If you can't afford, you really can't afford playing MMOs.

I haven't personally used these, but I've found some that have decent reviews. As /u/Faiter119 suggested, Logitech is a very trusted brand. The K120 is your basic, plain old keyboard.

There is also the Amazon Basics keyboard, which I would trust right off the bat as they provide decent quality electronics.

If you're willing to get a bit adventurous, I found the BlueFinger backlit keyboard that also comes with a mouse (for a promotion), but has no reviews because it won't be released until the 11th. This is the best $30 keyboard I've ever seen, to be honest. It looks legit, and their other keyboards are the same basic design and all get 4-5 stars, so I would take the risk. Amazon is always really cool about giving full refunds on products in case it doesn't work out.

u/PenPenGuin · 2 pointsr/keyboards

Amazon Basics makes generic keyboards and also sells them in bulk. Your supplier should do something similar - you should be able to get really cheap keyboards for $10 or under.

I wouldn't suggest buying anything higher priced unless you or your IT department can get buy off on directly charging the trader's unit / department for reimbursement. If they will reimburse cost, feel free to buy the guy whatever the hell their department will cover with the understanding that it will be a charge-per-replacement cost (and that misuse / abuse of equipment is not covered by warranties).

u/Iheartbaconz · 2 pointsr/sysadmin

Amazon basics keyboards are low profile(keyword you are looking for). I have a hand full here I bought to test. Keys feel better then most membrain kb's we have but I suspect thats bc they are older ones that have a ton of hours on them. I dont have a clue if you can get them in your country though. Alot of the Logitech K lineup are low profile almost like a laptop scissor switch.

>Have you e ever used a keyboard with a calculator key? They're so convenient. You hit the key and it opens the computer's calculator.

If you want another, here's a relatively inexpensive keyboard with a calculator key that I absolutely love:

Follow-up (in order for cost/time):

  1. Clear your CMOS, pg 37, leave BIOS defaults after clear (http://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7C37v3.1.pdf)

  2. Try a new keyboard when you are able to. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005EOWBHC/)

  3. Try a Windows Refresh (https://pureinfotech.com/refresh-windows-10-clean-installation/) This will require you to reinstall drivers and software/games, also backup your important files if you have any.

  4. If you cannot do a refresh because of it freezing, try a Clean Install (https://www.windowscentral.com/how-do-clean-installation-windows-10)

  5. Replace the Kingston SSD with a Samsung 860, reinstall Windows.

Thank you for actually ordering your response in the same list form as my questions, and answering everything, I wish more people would do that.
u/clupean · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Sorry, you can't buy anything good for $30 but that doesn't mean keyboards under $30 are crap. I suggest buying a wired keyboard and if possible with mouse included.

Standard cheap keyboard/mouse: $20 Logitech combo. Pretty decent for the money.
AmazonBasics also has a decent keyboard for $14 ($20 with mouse).

If in the future you feel like upgrading and are willing to spend the money, visit /r/keyboards and make a post just like you did here: do some research, include your budget and what the keyboard will be used for.

u/Bag0fSwag · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Ordered, thanks for the post. I know it's probably pretty shitty relative to other mechs, but I wanted something more compact than my current glory for as nothing as possible

Cheap answer, although kind of boring:

Refurb computer - $190: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=1VK-001E-05DZ8

Keyboard - $7: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-KU-0833-Wired-Keyboard/dp/B005EOWBHC

Monitor - $105: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824025094

The processor is basically a 1st gen i7. A bit long in the tooth, but not that far behind a modern i5 in video editing, and a fine daily driver. Plus you get to save that discount Windows 10 for yourself (at my school, at least, we were limited to 1 key per student ID). Maybe add some extra DDR3 RAM for video editing.

Fun answer:

Get the CPU and motherboard from Microcenter. You get $30 off the motherboard when you buy an eligible CPU (price in the table is with discount). The i3 combos as well, so you can drop to that and lower the price tag to $400, although it'll hurt video rendering a bit.

Some other budget cases with window:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pDphP6/corsair-case-spec01redled

I'd rank these lower, but they still have reasonable quality and cable management. Mostly just trying to give you some aesthetic variety in your choices:

Edit: Oop, just remembered that the monitor doesn't have any speakers. I don't have any strong recommendations there. If you don't have a spare, you can get a cheap pair for $10. I have Z200s myself, which cost $23 on Amazon. Pretty good for the price, but lacking in bass as you might expect.

What he said.
Also, if you are looking for keyboards for your PS4, there are some bluetooth ones but they may cause some interference while typing depending on the brand and cost. I had a Logitech one but got tired of those so I got this wired one, pretty cheap too.

You don't need a mouse because the trackpad on the controller works as one, however, if you are planning to be a main healer, I would recommend to get the mouse, also sold as a bundle with the keyboard i linked. Sometimes it's easier to click on people on the screen using a mouse to fast heal them. But other than that, just get a keyboard.

They call the switches "silent" but that just means "silent for a mechanical keyboard". Like/u/Indivith said, if you're not too worried about the feel of the keyboard and only want to focus on a quiet sound, like on a laptop keyboard as you said, you can snag a cheap Amazonbasics keyboard for about 12 bucks. If you want a higher quality keyboard, Logitech keyboards are also pretty good

u/clickclackman · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

don't know of any switch like that unfortunately.

u/s_i_m_s · 1 pointr/verizon

I wasn't actually recommending a case more something like this or this or a full size usb keyboard
Like I said more to keep up with but with a case stand could be a decent solution.

For functionality i'd go with something usb based if possible the bluetooth stuff all has a annoying delay since it switches the bt radio off after a few minutes of inactivity. It's only a few seconds and bt keyboards are still very popular so that part may not be a big issue to you.

The startup delay and occasional ghost keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeying of BT keyboards have killed them as an option for me. You can convert any usb or wireless usb full size or mini keyboard with something like this or this and avoid those problems but then you do gain a dongle to keep up with.

It's always something but it would still be nice if they just natively had a keyboard physical keyboard but it doesn't seem to be much on the market like that.

It's like trying to get a verizon flip phone with LTE they exist but you won't like the compromises you have to make to get one (only one on the market and it doesn't have a flashlight).

I know my callouts and a good amount of Nade spots. Any keyboard would work as long as it's plug and play. Amazon has an inexpensive one that some of my PS4 friends use: http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-KU-0833-Wired-Keyboard/dp/B005EOWBHC

However I've used both wired and bluetooth keyboards on my PS4, and they both suffered from input lag when typing. I'm not really sure if it's a FFXIV or PS4 limitation, but there are posts on the SE forums about it.

I just picked up an Amazon Basics USB Keyboard for $11 USD and a USB extension cable for $6

Handy to have a spare keyboard around, and the USB extension cable can be used a lot of places. For less than $20 its not a bad pickup.
