For the sake of attempting to understand the other side of the coin, I picked up and started reading America Libre the other day. Basically, it's the first book in a Latino equivalent to the Northwest novels, replacing 'Aztlan' with 'The Hispanic Republic of North America'.
Something that surprised me, and perhaps this was because the author is Cuban American as opposed to Chicano, is that White people are all but exclusively referred to as 'Anglos', as opposed to, say, 'gringos'. I assumed it was simply a generalization, but if that is indeed how other groups see us...
