I'll share a couple things worth knowing for those of you who are gonna stock up a tech bag soon.

Get everything compatible with USB-C

Wall Charger

Power Bank

either one of these will charge your devices as fast as anything out there. Now stock up on cables with one end being USB-C and the other end being whatever plug your devices have.

See here:

I have this one for my 10.5:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7/

The official Apple cable is the only cable that supports fast charging.

u/rmodnar · 6 pointsr/iPhoneX

You can tell if fast charging kicks in because you'll hear/feel a second charging tone/vibrate a second or two after the first one.

I use this adapter and Apple's 2 meter USB-C to lightning cable:

I purchased the RAVPower 26800 PD and the [Anker Type-C 30W Charger] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to go along with it. It's supposed to be delivered today, so I'll let you know how it goes. I'm going to be on the road for the better part of a month and wanted something that would not only charge my Pixel, but my wife's phone and our camera as well.

u/amnesiacrobat · 4 pointsr/iphone

Just an FYI: you can use any usb-c charger that supports the PD 30w format, but apparently only the Apple usbc to lightning cable will support fast charge (I bought this Anker charger) and another cable and didn’t get fast charge until I got the Apple cable). Also, if you can wait I found an Apple cable on Amazon for about half price ($15).

u/Bowenktyler · 4 pointsr/iphone

Here’s the link for the charger. It has a indicator light on it but it’s worth the cheaper price opposed to the Apple charger.

Edit: looks like its back ordered until November 5th. Sorry guys

u/Kopyyy · 3 pointsr/iphone

I got an Aukey USB-C wall adapter and a lightning to USB-C cable on Amazon. Everything total cost around $30. Totally worth it.

Edit:
This was the cable that I bought. Long, braided, very nice. Gets the job done:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077FM5BZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And this was the wall charger that I bought. I got it for $20, but it looks like the price has gone up a little bit. This is the fast charger and together with the above cable, you get that sweet sweet quick charge for your new iPhone:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hope this helps :)

I'm using the Tudia SKN (clear, to show off the white phone) and I quite like it. Good grip and it's at least helped a couple of waist high drops onto tile. My neighbor has a Poetic Guardian, which is quite nice as long as you are okay with a charger flap and integral plastic screen protector. The new Karbon also looks good.

For chargers, this is on my list: Anker PD

I am a big Anker fan for accessories and this seems to be well regarded.

Finally, I would suggest finding a GCam port and install. I am using arnova v7 beta 9 with good results. I still find it better than the stock in most lighting conditions, especially in low light. I mostly use the Essential camera app for monochrome and portrait mode.

u/satmandu · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

Ideally you want a device with USB-C Power Delivery support so you get faster charging.

This newest device from Anker, the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD with 27W PD Portable Charger, should work for that:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZ61PRW/

Granted it is more expensive.

When I was in the market several months ago I bought the Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C model:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-High-Capacity-Portable/dp/B014ZO46LK/

FYI if you need a standalone brick charger as opposed to a power bank, this model appears to work, as per this Nathan K mentioned analysis:

The Anker PowerPort Speed 1 Revision 2 (model number AK-A2014112)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y427WT7/

u/simplistic · 3 pointsr/iphone

In order to fast charge your iPhone properly, you'll need a USB-C power adapter with power delivery:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y427WT7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xds5BbPP28G73

It's also necessary to get a lighting to USB-C cable (preferably an official Apple cable):

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DGYJBQA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-hs5BbFA5KK79

However If you don't want to spend the money for an Apple cable, make sure you get a cable from a reputable brand.

u/AWildDragon · 3 pointsr/ipad

I have this anker charger for my 10.5 pro. Here is a thread discussing some third party chargers.

u/PolyWhats · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitchDeals

As far as I know both the Anker and the RAVPower get good reviews for charging a Switch on the go. I think any type-c that will put out the right wattage will charge it. RAVPower customer service also recommended this one. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Delivery-Charger-PowerPort-Samsung/dp/B06Y427WT7/ref=pd_sim_107_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=45FVF2661MSYADBQ83DD

I went with the Powerport 5+ because I wanted to downsize on the number or wall chargers.

I have a standard USB Anker power bank for my phone that I've been pretty pleased with. I don't think you can go wrong really.

u/Will7357 · 3 pointsr/iphone

I️ was eyeing the Anker one. I’ll probably wind up getting that one. Not sure which cable to purchase now. I’ve seen reports of only the genuine lighting to usb-c cable working correctly.

u/2me3 · 2 pointsr/xps13

Yes anything that supports usb C PD (power delivery) minimum 29 watts (45 watts officially) you can also have external monitors and ethernet over usb-c while charging.

Big thing you're looking for is usb PD support, power delivery. min 30 watt.

Bonus if you use the underpowered 30 watt charger it will reduce the strain on your battery (slower charge too) increasing long term life

u/GuyYouKnowFrmNowhere · 2 pointsr/Android

u/Duglitt · 2 pointsr/dubai

I can recommend an Anker USB-C brick. I use the stock apple wire (USB c to lightening) and my phone charges super fast

u/Lucifeces · 2 pointsr/ipad

The cable? or the actual wall charger?

If the charger supplies "power delivery", it will work.
This one does work for instance.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y427WT7?psc=1

As for cords - I've done it with an apple official usb C cord - not sure about others.

u/dailyskeptic · 2 pointsr/Switch

The 20100, it's made for the Switch. I have the smaller Switch version (13400).

As far as chargers go, Anker's 30W charger is great and safe. I also use the Google Pixel Charger.

u/bluaki · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I agree with /u/Plebsolute for Apple's 12W USB Power Adapter.

It's no longer sold on Amazon, but you can get it for $15 from Walmart or Target. It's $19 from Apple and Staples or $22 from Best Buy.

It's smaller than the CHOETECH charger and it charges Switch just as fast. Good cables to use with the Apple charger include AmazonBasics, Anker, or Cable Matters.

If you don't mind going a bit bigger and pricier, the $35 Google Pixel charger and the bigger $28 Anker 30W both charge Switch twice as fast as the other chargers and they're still smaller than Nintendo's.

u/dawo5010 · 2 pointsr/iphone

I'm not sure about the exactly voltage/amperage the iPhone XS Max fast charges at (will do a test when I get my Apple USB-C to lightning cable and post pictures), but in essence you'll need a PD-compatible charger of at least 29W (which have USB-C outputs) like this one and the official Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable. There are some third-party fast-charge cables, but reviews about them seem mixed and they seem to get disabled every so often with iOS updates.

You shouldn't really have to think too much about voltage/ampere/wattage ratings on the chargers, for as long as they're PD certified, they will support the necessary output voltages.

u/LeonardoDiRaprio · 2 pointsr/ipad

I believe that the device is capable of fast-charging. You'd need to get a charger that outputs 30W or 60W.

u/modcaleb · 2 pointsr/iPhoneX

Go with a USB type c cable and a block that does PD. It’s better supported, and it’s what everything is slowly moving towards anyway so you’ll be ahead of the game. In my experience, my fast charging bricks from my past android phones didn’t work.

Personally, I’ve been using this since launch day and I love it.

There's a link to the Wiki in the sidebar. The Wiki has a USB-PD page that lists chargers and power banks. Personally, I've used this because I already had it and it works fine:

Nathan K.'s got a reprint from another reviewer named Hanpen, who tested a later version of the Anker PowerPort Speed 1. Basically, the second version fixed the issues found in the first. So, it's not APPROVED approved, but signs are good. Of course, if you purchase this online, you may be shipped the earlier version, so just be ready to return the product if that happens.

Similar price to the official one by Nintendo but less bulky, rounded corners, folding plug, and uses a separate cable which all make it nicer for travel. Will charge while cranking BotW on an international flight with seat outlets ;-).

u/nextminute86 · 1 pointr/ipad

I use a couple of the Anker 30 watt Type C chargers and they seem to charge at about the same speed as the 61 watt charger that came with my 2017 MBP13, but I have no objective measurements to back that up. I just use whatever one I have available.

Edit: I’ve also used the 29 watt that came with my mom’s MacBook and it seems to charger my iPad Pro at the same speed as the others I mentioned.

u/defective · 1 pointr/ipad

I have used this (which was linked already: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7 )

with a 2-meter USB-C extender I bought at WalMart that was intended for the Nintendo Switch, and the official 1-meter USB-C to Lightning from Apple. It charges at about 29 watts as measured by my USB-C multimeter thing.

It also charges that fast with the Apple USB-C cable plugged directly into this battery (which comes with the above charger) https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Delivery-Charger-Portable/dp/B01MZ61PRW

Haven't tried it with the extender in the battery but I would expect it to work. I would not bank on extenders working in general, though, so be careful.

u/a_n_jp · 1 pointr/iphone

You need an apple USB C to lightning cable and a power brick that supports USB-C PD to get true fast charging on an iphone.

Here's an anker product that supports the iphone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y427WT7/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=vergeopt-20&linkId=3624200607574092b1d7adee5bef98bd&language=en_US

What you linked is better than the brick that came with your phone at least. You could also use an ipad charger if you have one.

My initial reactions:

  • Price seems high

Look at it this way... The regular price for PowerPort Atom PD 1 is just $4 more expensive than PowerPort Speed 1 USB-C 30W. At $54.99, PowerPort Atom PD 2 will cost $18 more than PowerPort Speed 1 USB-C 60W.

  • Still appears large and heavy

Although the specs may have changed since this was initially unveiled in January 2018 or re-announced in October 2018, it doesn't look much different in the picture. This means the device is not so small/light... It's hard to imagine this is using GaN.

  • Why did this take so long to release?

It has been over 15 months since the initial unveiling at CES 2018.

  • Future versions

We already know something that appears to be much more compact is coming soon.

I suspect we'll eventually see a version with 60W PD and PowerIQ 2.0 to make for a more ideal solution for those with a combination of high-power PD laptops and QC phones.

  • Still a step in the right direction

The more PD solutions Anker offers, the better.
u/sk9592 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I would just get one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-PowerPort-iPhone-Galaxy/dp/B00P936188/

It should be able to charge/power all of those devices except for the Nintendo Switch.

I would use a dedicated 30W USB-C charger to charge the Switch:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Delivery-PowerPort-MateBook/dp/B06Y427WT7/

You can also use this changer to charger the Note 10 super fast when you get it. The Note 10 supports USB PD.

On second thought, it's probably best to use the official Switch charger if you want to dock, charge, and play on a TV all at the same time. Nintendo is a bit annoying about how they decided to implement USB-C on the Switch.

u/AnthonyAJumelles · 1 pointr/chromeos

I would recommend not using it because eventually it's going to damage the middle USB pins in your CB. Stick a closed pair of needle nosed pliers inside and try to open them, slowly to stretch out the bent area.

Here's a replacement you can get for fairly cheap https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Delivery-PowerPort-Samsung/dp/B06Y427WT7?crid=1SJLVG0WTRZ7Q&keywords=anker+macbook+charger&qid=1537057480&sprefix=anker+macbook+&sr=8-5&ref=mp_s_a_1_5

That will allow you to avoid having to worry about breaking it again as the cord will not be fixed to the wall.

I need a new AC Adapter, a USB charger for the dock that can provide TV output. I never even touched my switch or the cradle for months, then when I finally do, my Switch won't charge anymore. The adapter is definitely dead and possibly the dock.

Are there any AC adapters that can work? Can I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7 (The 30watt anker with power delivery) and a usb c cable? This is strictly for the dock.

I have one of these on my desk and it works for USB stuff pretty well. As far as USB C to Lightning cable, AFAIK the only actual certified Made for iPhone USB C to Lightning cable is the official Apple one.

I know that doesn't really help much, but Anker is a really trusted brand of mine so I wouldn't go wrong with them. Here's a decent one. It's expensive, but it's definitely worth it.

u/Dark_Pulse · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I bought a battery pack that comes with a charger. They sell the charger separately, for $28.99.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y427WT7

But when I looked at the battery pack... well, it might be the ultimate battery pack for the Switch (if you have a bag that can hold it!). I shelled out the big bucks for this bad boy, but considering its capabilities, it's worth pretty much every penny.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZ61PRW/

Guaranteed to charge the Switch on the go - even while you're playing it. Enough juice to last for days practically. Has a couple extra USB-A plugs so you can give your phone (assuming they don't also need USB-C) a good boost as well.

And you can charge the whole thing cold in 4 1/2 hours?

Yeah, it's pricey (about $100), but it may well be the last battery pack you need to buy for a long, long time - and it's overkill for keeping your Switch's battery going. You're getting at least 4-5 full recharges out of that thing before you need to charge it. Besides the AC Adapter, it'll also come with a C-to-C cable, and a Micro-B to A cable, and a nice little bag to protect it all too. Since the charger alone is $30 and you figure maybe an extra $10 for the cables themselves, that makes the price a lot more easy to swallow considering the mileage you'll get out of this thing.

If you need an AC Charger, $30 and that's got you covered. If you need portable power too, definitely look into getting the battery when it's back on sale in mid-May or so. Either way, you can't lose.

Pricey, yes... but so, so worth the money. Totally was happy to be playing BotW with my Switch plugged into this thing during some downtime at work, and to see its charge percentage going up as I played.

Ok. Here we go! It’s impossible to tell you what the best of everything is, since the best for me, isn’t necessarily the best for you. So here’s my setup, and reasons why.

My iPhone XS is protected by one of two cases.

  1. Spigen Ultra Hybrid Space Crystal I like this case because it shows off the phone. I use this case as my daily driver. Reason I like it is because it doesn’t yellow over time and is nice and grippy on the sides.
  2. RhinoShield SolidSuit, Classic Black This case I use for when my phone could potentially get damaged or knocked around. I work Security, so this is the case I use at work. It’s slim but provides great drop protection. It can also accept camera lens attachments.

I use the Spigen Full Coverage Tempered Glass screen protector . It’s the least intrusive screen protector I have used. I love it. Combined with a case, it’s virtually invisible and it covers the entire screen without negative affects on Face ID or screen clarity. They are also cheap.

I have a Apple Watch Series 4 Nike+ and it’s protected by a RhinoShield CrashGuard NX. This is the only case I’ve found that fits, and doesn’t wear or tear like some of the other TPU cases out there. It’s saved my watch many times from hits and scuffs.

I’ve searched long and hard for a screen protector for my Watch I like, and ill be honest, I haven’t found a single one that doesn’t peel, and if it doesn’t (like glass) it will crack or chip. Many non-glass screen protectors distort the hell out of the display. In other words, screen protectors for the watch just aren’t worth it.

In the car, I use Anker PowerLine II USB to Lightning Cables. These cables are bulletproof. They have always maintained a great connection for me, they are braided and have been super durable when shoving them into small spaces like behind headliners, plastic trim etc in the car. The PowerLine v1 has a rubber coating instead of a braided line if you want a more subtle look.

For charging, beside my bed I have the Bestand 3 in 1 Qi Charger.
It charges my watch, AirPods and iPhone. It does require a multi USB port charger to power everything, so I use an Anker 40W, 5 port USB charger. This is perfect because I just have another long Anker PowerLine II cable going to the other side for my wife (she only has an iPhone).

I also carry a genuine Apple USB-C to Lightning cable and a Anker USB C Power Delivery 30W charger in my “Go Bag” just in case I need to quick charge my iPhone on the go.

    I hope this helps!
u/flexi_led · 1 pointr/ipad

The only thing you need to look out for is to check the charger does PD @ 14.5/15v 2A (same as their 1st party charger). It won’t do fast charging via different voltages.

Take a look at the specs for any chargers as some support particular voltages and not others.

This Anker 30W charger one looks fine:

27w Aukey pd 3.0 starts around 70 gram / 2.5 oz, Anker around 100 gram / 3.5 oz.

To compare Anker QC 3.0 18w wall charger suitable for Anker Powercore II 10.000 mAh (190 gram / 6.7 oz) with a full recharge time of minimum 4 hours comes in around 70 gram / 2.5 oz. with no MFI lightning cable.

No free lunch.. but potential to save 2-2.5 hours charging your powerbank everytime you are in town :)

The Essential phone is very, very picky about cables and chargers. The cable they included in the box is a very low quality cable and should be replaced for purposes besides charging. If you bought during an eBay special, you may have an unusually low quality charger.

For optimal (fast) charging, you want a high quality USB-PD rated USB wall (or car) charger supporting USB-C to USB-C charging.

Something like this, this, or this along with a USB type C to type C cable.

Once I switched to doing it this way, my phone started to charge rapidly every time.

Should be. Never messed with one tho. I hardly have an excuse for a power bank

This is the charger I got https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y427WT7/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_PN-nDbS6MMY6Q

There are no AmazonBasics USB C wall charger brick that I know of. I personally use this one: Anker USB Type-C with Power Delivery 30W
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Delivery-Charger-PowerPort-Samsung/dp/B06Y427WT7/ref=sr_1_6?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1511810240&sr=1-6&keywords=usb+c+wall+charger

It's pretty expensive, but its also 30W which chargers my other USB C devices such as the Nintendo Switch pretty fast. Full disclosure though, I actually got the charger when I bought the Anker Powerbank with Power Delivery (comes with the charger).

All of the power bricks I have ever bought, are actually OEM Google chargers. There are simply too many bad chargers out there, that I just took the safe route. I use the AmazonBasic cables for my car chargers.

Ifyou just want a USB-C wall charger, then, https://amazon.com/Anker-Delivery-Charger-PowerPort-Samsung/dp/B06Y427WT7/
or,
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CJ90J6O/ref=psdc_12557637011_t1_B06Y427WT7
I have the latter at my office for the phone. It comes with a USB-C cable as well.

I snagged myself this adapter on amazon based on the recommendation here earlier this week, and I’ll have to grab an Apple USB C to Lightning cable. From everything I’ve read, the different isn’t too great and the fast charging turns itself off at 80% anyways.
