Get this, now all I have to do to see my notifications is turn my head towards my phone. Don’t even have to reach for it or anything.

Thanks, the stand is one from anker that I got on amazon, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753Z4PGC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_jlnJwPiN3uBkQ
(I think it also comes in white)

Batteries aren't that fussy. Extreme temperatures are far more problematic for them than the tiny differences that may result from different charging patterns. You should just use it like you want to use it and not worry about it. Having wireless chargers in places you regularly set your phone make it easy to just constantly top it up, which makes your life more convenient, and that's the only concern worth having.

As for recommendations: Anker makes cheap, reliable chargers with simple, clean designs. Personally, I don't think it's worth paying any extra for models that can charge faster because the great thing about using wireless chargers is that they can just be slowly charging in situations where you'd otherwise have them simply sitting on a desk slowly draining.

I've got one flat charger (Amazon link) that I use on my nightstand and another stand up version that I keep on my desk at work. It's wonderful with Face ID because I can just tap the screen and look at it and it unlocks.

They make one that sits up on an angle that makes it pretty dummy proof.

I have this one and it's been great. No need for fast charging since it sits there while I sleep..

You bought it at Costco, you can return it. That’s a huge benefit of the membership.

I’ve been using one of these from Anker on my nightstand and another on my counter for our 2 XS phones for almost a year.

They don’t hum or whine, and if the blue light bothers you at night just block it with tape.

I’m traveling now and I’ve used it as a stand on the airplane and hotel desk to watch shows. Charges landscape or portrait.

I got this one : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0753Z4PGC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For a few reasons. Goal was to charge overnight. Angle to see the time at night (always on option is set to work during night). Not a fast charger to preserve battery life / not overheating the battery / phone. This is on my night stand. Anker is also a reliable maker. I would have selected a fast charge one for other places at home or office. But better charge slow overnight.

On a side note, power button on back becomes unavailable when putting the phone on the charger. Since I go to bed after wife, the phone illuminate the room / wife when it start charging. Quickly double tapping the status bar shut off the screen :) So not an issue anymore. Could be useful for some.

Haha,

Well I can tell you I just spent fucking like 5 hours researching wireless chargers cuz I got an iphone 8. And that is why I posted that product.

I can't use a lot of them because I have a pop socket. On top of that I want to get a wallet case. Well does the wireless charger demagnetize the credit cards? Supposedly not. But will my magnet mount in my car? Probably.

So now I have a magnet mount, iphone wallet case, pop socket, wireless charger clusterfuck I can't figure out. And then I came across this specific wireless charger which has a nice big base compared to the others. And it has good reviews! Nope! Fake...fuck. Thus, I vented my frustration to reddit and lead to this thread.

---

Well, if you are curious I'm going with this case. I am going to attach this wallet on the back. I am going to stick my pop socket on the wallet part (probably super glue both of them). I am going to attach this pop socket mount to the magnet mount to prevent damaging the credit cards. And I'm going to pray this wireless charger works with all this shit.

And now, typing this all out, I'm wondering if the pop socket will wear out the wallet. Might be better to just get the wallet case after all...

This one from Amazon.

I recommend getting this setup and if you want a wireless charger for next to your bed or something I would pickup a cheap wireless charger off amazon. I have this one from anker it’s only 20$

overall though I find having a fast charger is 10x more helpful than having a wireless charger

Anker Wireless Charger and Anker Dual Port 24w Charger

I use this overnight because the wireless charger can only push 5w to the iPhone X. If I plug it in using a Lightning cable then I get the full 15w and my iPhone charges in 3 hours. I don't want to use high speed charging because I feel it hurts the battery.

I've used a bunch of the no-name Chinese wireless chargers and they either failed after a few months or they had a very small sweet spot when induction charging started.

Selling an Anker wireless charger. See Amazon listing here: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0753Z4PGC/

Works great, but we have to take our cases off to be able to use the wireless charger due to the magnets in our phone cases (for car mounts). Too much trouble to take the case off every time.

Bought about a month ago for $30 plus taxes, asking $20. Includes usb cable, but no wall plug (as per the listing).

Update #2: I decided to try it anyway and bought a Qi compatible wireless charger. With the metal plate at the bottom of the phone (or case), it still charges. Win win.

I’ve been using the Anker Wireless Charger, Qi-Certified Wireless Charger Compatible PowerPort Wireless 5 Stand. It’s not high power, but as it sits at my bedside I don’t really care.

u/realsqlguy · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I've been using this one for a few months, first with a Qi receiver tucked into the case of my OG XL, and now with my P3:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753Z4PGC/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It doesn't fast-charge, but I use this on my nightstand for overnight charging, so it doesn't matter.

I plan to get the Pixel Stand once I get my $50 store credit.

I have a basic Samsung pad one, probably two or three years old now, but still works fine and Anker makes really good ones too! I've got this one from Anker. I'm also considering upgrading my work desk one to this one because it'd be easier to look at the phone. If you're in the US, Anker should easily be available on Amazon too. Other brands that are good are Belkin and Aukey :)

I used one of these so I could see the clock on my phone at night from my bed. To do that with a cable would require I plug it into a charger and set it on a stand.. so why not just set it on the stand and go. It was very convenient and served two functions for me.

-Anker 5W for $19.99

-RAVPower Max 10W $14.99

-Anker 5/7.5/10W (depending on your device, so 10W for the Pixel 3/XL) $29.99

You have to look for the output. Here's an example of how to get the 5-10W or even more calculated very easily.

If it says "Output 5V / 1A", then basically do this: 5 * 1 = 5W. (multiply the Volts with Amps and you get Watts)

There you go, that's how you calculate the actual output a particular wireless charger can actually charge your device.

PS: I've used Anker in the past and it's one of the best quality for the price. It's not to say others aren't great, but their cables, fast car charger and other accessories helped me out a lot - while being on a budget and demanding high quality.

I got a wireless charging stand for my desk, which has been great because you can look at the phone to unlock it and see notifications without having to take it off the charger.
