Buy this :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00S7CH6FK/

You save so much money on the long run. And you can clean your computer more often because it'll cost you less

u/alahos · 12 pointsr/buildapcsales

What do you guys think of electric blowers like this one? Assuming it's not a piece of crap, it could pay for itself.

edit: Definitely getting myself one, just not necessarily the one I linked to. Thanks for the answers!

This is a good alternative for people in the UK.

Just so you know, > traditionally means "greater than" so i believe your Thread should read "Best PC upgrades < $50?"

But to answer your question, yes fans are a great option but you might also consider something like a reusable duster. Instead of using the canned air that we typically use it is a rechargeable duster than you can manually or electrically recharge. This one's right at your price point too!

Just make sure not to keep blowing air till you get the ice liquid come out which will wet the card, and it's fine, I spent so much on cans at 7-10 a pop, I just went and bought this instead, 1000x time better, none of the issues a can gets and doesn't run out lol.

u/Skyform_ · 2 pointsr/AnimeFigures

I bought one of these a while back. It's pretty good for superficial cleaning but you have to keep it up. It comes with attachments that you can angle.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S7CH6FK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

PS... the machinery gets hot fast. Don't use it too long. It doesn't blow hot air.

u/that_name_has_alread · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

I have this one and I've used it for a couple months now and it's held up well. I know it's not that much cheaper, but I think this is as cheap as it goes.

u/EagleOneGS · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I bought what is essentially a mini leaf blower specifically designed for electronics. Was tired of getting cans of compressed air. Works great on my radiators and my mechanical keyboards too. Little thing is powerful enough to send my mouse and keyboard off my desk.

u/Black_Devil213 · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

Well, I live in the UK, and got mine off Amazon. They claim it's available in other European countries as well.

Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ITdusters-com-EGP-COM-011-CompuCleaner-Electric-Duster/dp/B00S7CH6FK

It comes with an EU plug adaptor as well.

u/crabbman6 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

There are cheaper models, yes. I have the Compucleaner and it works wonders. Blows shit straight off my desk if I aim at it.

u/Orys___ · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

Use an electrical air duster like this one

https://www.amazon.fr/ITdusters-com-EGP-COM-011-CompuCleaner-Electric-Duster/dp/B00S7CH6FK/

Much cheaper than canned air on the long run.

Just blow air on all the parts, lock fans when cleaning them (you can damage bearings if they spin too fast)

u/baitboy3191 · 2 pointsr/pcgamingtechsupport

Keep it clean, both software and hardware wise. Dust is a bitch and it can cause thermal issues. Since you have a laptop you should at least air dust it maybe twice a month, by taking out the bottom and air blowing the heat sinks and fans (DONT LET THEM SPIN too much, hold them down or tape them down when air dusting them).

I have a can-less air duster from amazon this (https://www.amazon.com/EasyGo-CompuCleaner-Electronic-Alternative-Compressed/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1511903628&sr=8-5&keywords=canless+air+duster) bit pricey but worth it.

No need for antivirus, windows defender is super solid, just use your common sense when it comes to navigating the internet and downloading programs, it will remind you to run a system scan if you have not done one in a while. Furthermore, malewarebytes is a great addition that can help keep your system clean. I also use CCleaner to clean out my browsing history and cookies.

Keep the system cool, gaming laptops have come a long ways now, but they still can get a bit toasty especially during long gaming sessions. Any chill pad that directly feed air into the intakes should do a good job of keeping your laptop chill.

When downloading a new game, make sure you have the latest graphics drivers, nvidia tend send out their newest drivers whenever there is a big game being released.

u/Riper_Snifle · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

This seems to be one of the cheapest, and best reviewed on Amazon It's the equivalent of buying about 10 cans, so you'll make your money back pretty quickly.

EDIT: Here's a video review

u/Bound4MuMuLand · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'm going to buy one of these, or a cheap electric leaf blower.

u/Herdo · 2 pointsr/nvidia

>Don't let it fool you, its super powerful, and I have even dropped it a couple of times on accident. It's built like a tank. I was thinking about buying two so I can keep one at mom and dads when I visit.

These types of things are awesome. I have this one and I have the same things to say about it. Way more powerful than a compressed air can, constant air flow, and super durable. Everyone should have one of these.

u/gailson0192 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

What about using a blowing type of vacuum. [Like this one](EasyGo CompuCleaner - Electric Computer Blower for Electronic Devices - Alternative to Compressed Air or Canned Air https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rEzGybCW86GGZ)?

I know they get a bit toastier but I clean my hardware regularly anyway.

I bought a [Electric Air Duster] (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S7CH6FK) especially for this kind of stuff.

Thanks for the advice none the less.

u/KX321 · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Thanks I'll give this a go tomorrow.

I actually have one of these, so should be able to give it a good clean out

u/RakeRieme · 1 pointr/gamingpc

Nice job! I have a reccomendation for dust management now and forever more. One of the best PC related purchases I have ever made was around 50.00 on amazon if I recall. It is an air blower that you plug into the wall called compucleaner. It comes with several attachments for varying levels of force and even a brush tip for keyboards.

When I worked in a computer shop we essentially had a commercial version. The canned air is no good imo, bc you end up having to buy more and more and often times it will release liquid from the pressure no matter how careful you are. Dust and cig smoke (fun fact) kill pcs and it is inevitable that dust will build up. The compucleaner is safe, easy as hell to use, and reusable. It is an excellent investment imo.

I couldn't find any when I looked before. Ended up ordering this from Amazon UK:

u/DoktorTeufel · 1 pointr/buildapc

You should dust your computer out at least once per month. If you went three and a half years without dusting, no wonder it went BANG (might not have been the primary cause, but certainly a contributing factor).

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S7CH6FK/

u/Arrhythmix · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yes you can, but you can save yourself some money down the road getting one of [these] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S7CH6FK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

u/mmsood99 · 1 pointr/techsupport

When was the last time you cleaned out your PC? Accumulated dust can cause the temps to rise. I was caught out like this once. Got CPU temps of 95C. Cleaned the dust off it and it went down to 60C

Don't use a vacuum cleaner (too much static electricity). Use a high pressure can of air, or this:

https://www.amazon.com/EGP-COM-011-Electric-Cleaner-Electronic-Devices/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=lp_3012916011_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479752652&sr=1-6

u/chanpod · 1 pointr/wow

dood, stop using cans of air.
Electric duster or whatever you call these things

Soo much better (and cheaper in the long run).

u/iDroidManiac · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have ordered this one compuvac

Can't be that bad considering it's less than half the price of the datavac. Unfortunately only time will tell if it's any cop.

u/PM_ME_CAT_FEET · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

On Amazon, this one is the one I have but others are available.

u/itonlygetsworse · 1 pointr/DIY

Gotcha. I'll spend the 1-2 hours doing the research. The one you linked looks good for baseline, I saw on amazon this air compressor for $40 with good reviews that I am considering now that I saw what you linked. But the people who sell it don't suggest using a AC DC converter for wall plugs.

Then again I am also looking at this which has more power and can plug into a wall but it isn't for tires and stuff.

I've had my new build only for about 2 weeks now and after a week EVERYTHING started getting dusty. It really does blow my mind how dusty our setups get, especially in a short span of time. I bought this one to clean it all up, it's great but it's also very loud: http://www.amazon.com/Products-EGP-COM-011-Compressed-Electric-Disposable/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1459170528&sr=8-4&keywords=computer+cleaner

u/kicks07 · 1 pointr/computers

If you are doing it every couple of months with compressed air I'd consider getting something like this

https://www.amazon.com/EasyGo-CompuCleaner-Electronic-Alternative-Compressed/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1498226378&sr=8-25&keywords=computer+duster+air

I bought one a couple years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. I'm not a fan of canned air as I've had damage caused by the liquid that can be discharged. 99% of the time it is safe when it evaporates off of electronics if they are off, unplugged, and cool. I guess I just got unlucky.

Also I've used the air compressor to clean and dust plenty of things from my computers to some wood working projects. It is a handy little tool.

u/st0n3wa1l · 1 pointr/VacuumCleaners

I've personally never come across a vacuum that has a powerful blower on it. Maybe you should try something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Products-EGP-COM-011-Compressed-Electric-Disposable/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=zg_bs_3012915011_1 Sorry I can't be more help.

u/senfgurke2 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

This is the same one.

u/OHeyDenny · 1 pointr/buildapc

So vaccuum cleaners inside cases will destroy sensitive electronics, cause static build up, and generally give my nan cancer, so no shoving the hose inside a case to clean it, that's clear enough (not that it's particularly effective anyway).

OK, but then whenever I try blowing compressed air inside the case, I just end up blowing these great clouds of dust out...which then just end up settling back into the case.

Is there a huge risk with me blowing the air out safely with compressed air or this bad boy which I picked up yesterday, and then having the vaccuum hose just OUTSIDE of the case to suck up the disturbed dust before it has a chance to settle? If I'm holding the hose a good foot or so away from the electronics, then it should be electrostatically safe, right?

u/MomoSkywalker · 1 pointr/buildapc

Hi, Thanks for the reply,
This is what I brought from Amazon CompuCleaner - Electric Air Duster:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ITdusters-com-EGP-COM-011-CompuCleaner-Electric-Duster/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1524521220&sr=8-5&keywords=electric+duster

I got it cheaper but it had the best rating for my budget. As I said, I never had an issue, I have the Hyper Ever 212 and used the duster up and close, not one issue. So I don't understand why using to blow out the ram slot or even on the ram, how that killed my computer. My computer was not booting up, I normally have to power on and off before it boots. I decided to use the same trick, switch out the ram, that didn't work, on the fans and lights would come on. After that, I used the duster and that what it, the PC won't turn on. At the moment, I am using my old laptop for my computer needs until I repair my PC.

Has anyone used the Karcher WD3 wet dry vac? I'm UK based so the recommended wet dry vac from.Rigid isn't an option for me and I'm looking to buy a new vac and the Karcher seems really good.

Also has anyone used a plug in air compressor such as CompuCleaner - Electric Air Duster https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_p62oDbYJX9TCX for cleaning pad residue?

u/soggyburrito · 1 pointr/buildapc

Compressed air is fine as long as you hold the can upright, don't spray it too close to components, and don't hold it in one place for too long. I personally use this hand-held blower. In the past, I've used a leaf blower on low settings, but I don't recommend it lol.

Make sure you get the vents under your PC. They're easy to forget about.

u/eightgalaxies · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I feel compressed air isn't strong enough so am just going to buy one of these

u/hellspawnednl · 1 pointr/Warthunder

The most important maintenance of any computer (so be it pc,laptop or dare i say mac) is keeping it dust free as possible. And yes every 2 years change the thermal compound to keep it decent (could do every year if you want but not needed, average lifetime of most compounds is 2 years).

For keeping it dust free try to invest in either canned air (not ideal as it still brings moisture with it sometimes) or a small electric compressor like This.

u/ironfixxxer · 1 pointr/buildapc

You can use a blower. Something like this

u/cptechdesigns · 1 pointr/buildapc

EasyGo CompuCleaner

Just bought this like a month ago and it works like a charm.

I use an air duster:

[CompuCleaner - Electric Air Duster] (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00S7CH6FK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_bD5AcO7Tvkihu)

u/PillowTalk420 · 0 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Yeah, it's compressed air and a propellant, like butane or something, to make it expand even more. That's why the shit gets cold when you spray it. I think I might just get something like this, though. Mini-reverse vaccuum. That's all one really needs. Never buy canned air again!
