I would not suggest doing what you are doing, because voltage drops with the length (resistance) of the cable. This will result in the camera getting less than 5V, and it may try to compensate by drawing more amps, which is obviously not good.
Here is a 2-pack at $8 per converter on Amazon.com. These down-convert IEEE802.3AF POE at 48V to Micro USB at 5V 2.4A.
You can already do POE with some adapters.

If you want to put the camera in a place where you don't have a power outlet, but do already have ethernet. Or even if you don't already have it, ethernet is much easier to hide or run through walls than an extension cord.
I already have ethernet run to my camera locations outside my house, so if I didn't already have a PoE NVR camera system, I would be using that PoE to place Wyze cams in those spots. If this thing ever breaks, they're all getting replaced by Wyze cams.
And as for adapters, this is the sort of thing you would use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079D5452Z/

I've used this 2 pack to good effect. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079D5452Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I run CAT5 and use 5v POE adapters. Then you can go 300 feet.
