This is your best option to connect your Apple products to your TV. I purchased this one on Amazon for my car to mirror my phone on my car radio. You can still charge your phone while having it connected.
They're $30ish on Amazon used if that salves the burn any.
The Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter will work.
Note that there are other Lightning to HDMI adapters, but most don't support HDCP, and so will not work with Netflix.

maybe just use a Lightning to HDMI adapter?
this isn't exactly what you are talking about but you could install apps for Netflix and maybe other streaming services on the iPhone, then get them on the TV via HDMI.
This is a way to screen record using hardware, just buy this

also buy a HDMI cable, and a capture device that supports HDMI.
It costs a lot, but that's the only undetectable way I know of.

$40, it has analog-tv and an hdmi port as well as a 3.5mm stereo audio.
I berryboot with openelec for playing local content from USB drives.
On the other hand, just use the IOS device and these:

This thing right here is HDMI out. So it will work with any external capture device that has an hdmi input.

Why not just route an hdmi and a splitter of some sort? Use a lightning cable to hdmi out, hdmi cable to splitter two hdmis to monitors.

My understanding is that phones are not permitted on Gamenet. You might want to check with the OIT helpdesk (call or email them) to see if there's a way to mirror your screen, but my gut feeling is that you'll have to use some wired adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Lightning-Digital-Adapter-MD826AM/dp/B009WHV3BM
i have apple tv and they block anything paid BUT like others mentioned just plugging your computer into the hmdi i have a macbook pro so i had to buy this adaptor. if your computer has a USB u can easily find USB to HDMI adaptors.
I second everything on this list. It’s pretty great. Here’s a few additions.

Official apple adapter allows you to charge while using HDMI.
elgato, but for using a capture card you will need a iPhone to HDMI adapter
Um. Your options aren't going to be great (if even possible). Most devices need a wifi connection to stream media to a TV.
You might be able to find a device that can handle bluetooth airplay video streaming. But, I've never seen one. Edit: sounds like an Apple TV can do it, but that's a bit pricey and will likely need an initial internet connection at least. Or, you can get this thing, although not all apps will pass through it.
Does your TV have an HDMI port (most recent ones do)?
Hook up your laptop to it.
Or buy one of these and give it a shot from your phone (apple only). http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MD826ZM-Lightning-Digital-Adapter/dp/B009WHV3BM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1426514388&sr=1-1&keywords=iphone+to+hdmi
You could pair something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/AAXA-P4X-Projector-Lumens-Battery/dp/B007CWDFP6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377795624&sr=8-1&keywords=pico+projector
With this...

I just picked that projector at random since it seemed to have good reviews, but you can do a search for "pico projectors" and find the one that would work best for you.
There's also this... http://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Digital-Adapter-Display-Generation/dp/B009WHV3BM
Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter for Select iPhone, iPad and iPod Models (MD826AM/A) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009WHV3BM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qGeVAbX83HMJ0
I can’t charge. I switch to power save but play with the phone or iPad so I can extend it a bit across both devices
I agree that the HDMI adapter is the cheapest route. It's debatable if this is "streaming" though as that usually implies a wireless connection.
But, $20 for an HDMI cable?!
Amazon $5.09
Monoprice $2.57
Edit: The adapter itself is $43.37 at Amazon while an Apple TV is $99.
If you have an iPhone, you can use this https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Lightning-Digital-Adapter-MD826AM/dp/B009WHV3BM
Here's a link to one if you wanted to read into it more. Description states it "mirrors" your device display to the TV so seems I was right on that but as far as it counting as tethering I really can't say.
https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Lightning-Digital-Adapter-MD826AM/dp/B009WHV3BM
https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Lightning-Digital-Adapter-MD826AM/dp/B009WHV3BM
You can output full 1080p from iPhone to TV
If you want to actually mirror your screen, you need this with a radio that accepts HDMI. Carplay is similar to mirroring, there's plenty of youtube videos that demonstrates what it's about, a lot more limited than mirroring though. I don't personally use it but the Kenwood DDX9703S is a beautiful radio, if you want a cheaper radio though this Pioneer is neat as well.
Why not just buy an HDMI adapter for the iPhone for around
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD826AM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Lightning-Digital-Adapter-MD826AM/dp/B009WHV3BM
1/3 the cost and you can just plug it in. . .
>What is the best way to do so from my iphone 5c? Apple TV?
Funny how everyone flocks to the wireless solution.
Do you mean best, as in easiest, or best as in best quality? Because there is 1080p at 4Mbps (ATV) and then there is 1080p at 40Mbps (HDMI) and while both classify as 1080p, there is a lot of interpolation going on at 4Mbps that simply does not exist at a higher bitrate.
ATV is your easiest way to get 1080p to your TV.
A lightening to HDMI adaptor, on the other hand, will provide you the best possible picture quality available from your iPhone.
>"touch less voice controls"
already can do if charging
>mini-hdmi
Not necessary with this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009WHV3BM/ref=s9_hps_ft_g422_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=12AN35T1FRSST9TDAAR6&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1881918402&pf_rd_i=1000933961
>removable battery
Not going to happen because it would ruin the form of the phone.
>swipe down to get to quick settings..
It's called control center. You just have to swipe up.
Don't need one. iPhone to HDMI cable:

This one is Lightning for both the part that goes in the iDevice and the charging cable. Can't you just use the charging cable you got with the iPad instead of buying an adapter to use a 30-pin charging cable?
I have presented from my iPad to VGA using the linked item below. I've never had any issues. It's a little pricey but it does work well.
http://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Digital-Adapter-Display-Generation/dp/B009WHV3BM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453597371&sr=8-1&keywords=Lightning+to+vga
This is true. Not sure how you can mirror the phone to a TV without a Lightning-HMDI cable though. This thing:
http://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Digital-Adapter-Display-Generation/dp/B009WHV3BM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453052196&sr=8-1&keywords=lightning+hdmi+connector
All you need is this. Dont even need to be jailbroken either. Works far better than Crapcast and other laggy/buggy apps.
Lightning to HDMI adapter
I just have an iphone AV cable there, so that if I occasionally want to use a 3rd party app, I can. I recommend either the official AV adapter (you might need some cables to go with it), or the cable that I'm using.
I've toyed with google maps and some TV shows (while parked)
You should try this with an HDMI cable.
I don't know much about apple TV but it seems like an expensive paper weight without internet

You do what you want but for some reason I'm nervous about buying apple stuff on amazon, so I get it right from apple. More expensive but no doubts that it will work correctly.
This weekend, my plans were to mow my grandmas lawn for her and help my mom start her online classes as she is going back to get her masters degree. I also watched the WWE Money in the Bank pay per view! Shout out to /r/SquaredCircle!
1.21 Gigawatts
It's not $50, but it's something I really want!
Here's Apple's official solution.
The closest you could get (to my knowledge) is using LonelyScreen (or something similar) to stream your phone screen to your computer (alternatively use a lightning to hdmi like the one seen here but I'm sure you can find something cheaper) and then use a Bluetooth mouse like the one found here (again you can find something cheaper) to control the device.
i am in the process of doing something similar. I have a Alpine H800 with the RUX C800 so the optical will feed straight to the processor.
Ipad mini 3 > Lightning AV adaper > HDMI to Optical converter > Voltage Regulator 12V to 5V I will be soldering the regulator to my 12V cig lighter, subsequently this is where ill be putting my remote turn on as well. Running my lightning extender cable up through the little fins in the Civic 09 dash about 4 inches away from my iPad. right now i just have a mount to cd slot but eventually i will get an iPad dash kit. I can use my hot spot data from my iPhone if i need to but since i got a 128 GB I'm fine.
I thought about using a bluetooth to optical but kept hearing that it wouldn't sound that great and might cause other problems with being intermittent
Maybe?
If you have a TV with an HDMI port, you could get an Lightning Digital AV adapter and plug that into your phone.

That may allow you to mirror your netflix videos on your tv screen.
I should note that everything mirrors from your phone to your TV, so it may not always be convenient or private.
A HDMI capture card on your computer might allow you to use your Computer instead, but I can't make any promises.
HDMI on laptops and desktops normally is used for sending video and audio to another screen, so you'd have to hook up a capture card to do the opposite.
Edit: You may be able to install an Airplay reciever on your computer, which would let you mirror your phone to your PC wirelessly. Although most "unofficial" airplay apps may not have a good track record with netflix DRM.

edit2: This may not actually work according to http://bgr.com/2016/11/30/netflix-download-app-chromecast-airplay-update/
Yeah, I've done this several times with an Xs. This is the cable I have. Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009WHV3BM
> anyway to play music from my iPhone while using the Reciever's DAC an not that of the iPhone to improve sound quality.
It's actually somewhat unlikely that your receiver has a better DAC than the iPhone. Believe it or not, but iPhones are very solid in the audio department.
That said, there is this, but that also mirrors video content. Otherwise, I'm on board with /u/hagemeyp : Apple TV, or AirPort Express in the case that your receiver also has a Toslink input.
Get these and this, then Kensington lock them to the table in every room.
I am not that familiar with apple products, but it looks like this thing would let you simply hook it up to an LCD monitor?
