Used Book in Good Condition
I second Origins. It's a must-read that helps open ones eyes to the legacy effects that decisions made just four or five generations ago can have on our current society. When you start placing current and recent events in a similar frame of reference as the book forms, you start to realize there is still a large amount of bias with the usual winners and losers.
Along those same race-driven non-fiction lines, I also suggest "Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age" about Dr. Ossian Sweet both before, during, and after the trial for defending his home and family against a white mob. It won the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 2004.

I go through books like some people go through water.
Jan-April: Sookie Stackhouse, Kerrlyn Sparks Vamps, Immortality Bites, MaryJanice Davidson's Undead, Mercy Thompson, Garnet Lacy, Richelle Mead's Kincaid, Katie MacAlister's Aisling Grey, Silver Dragons & Light Dragons series.
(As you may notice, Jan-April was the period where I was least busy with school. These last couple of months have been brutal with classes, so my extracurricular reading has slowed dramatically.)
