I bought this from amazon and sold it within a week. People say AC3 "gets better and it starts out slow" but I honestly gave it a few hours and for the life of my couldn't get into it. I was pretty much bored the whole time so I sold it. Assassin's Creed IV however is about $30 and very fun. It immediately got my attention, and the First 20 minutes are better than the first 2-3 hours of AC3. AC4 I can easily recommend.

My fave memory is definitely playin Catan with the famfam! When I'm home from school on a break, we usually play about 5 times per week! We really just can't ever get enough! We get a bunch of snacks on the table and play a nice long game together.

Black Flag is currently $10 on Amazon for 360 and PS3. Picking it back up there might be good since the game is rated highly and it's currently cheap.

Review embargoes typically lift long after preorders are available for a game. Preorders for AAA games usually become available when the current in-development version doesn't really represent what the final product will be at all, due to unfinished/lack of content, bugs, etc. You just don't notice because you can't play that version. There is no guarantee that any unreleased game you preorder will live up to its hype.

The difference with Cube World (and Minecraft when it was in Alpha, and many other games with a similar model, such as Overgrowth) is you can play it while it's in fairly early development once you've preordered.
