No compres mac a menos que quieras la laptop con la peor ingeniería y con más errores de diseño además con la reparabilidad más baja del mercado.

Así nomas con una revisada rápida salió esta Asus

https://www.amazon.com.mx/ASUS-VivoBook-i5-8250U-Fingerprint-F510UA-AH51/dp/B0762S8PYM/

Y esta lenovo

Que ofrecen básicamente lo mismo menos el SSD pero pues en ese rango de precio te darían uno de 128 Gb de cualquier forma.

While there aren't any exceptional deals on a laptop under 500 currently available right now to share with you, i want to let you know that the laptop above is far from a good deal as another redditor had said.

if I were you I would keep lurking here for a bit more and you'll come upon a very good one.

AS AN EXAMPLE (not telling you to get this one but if YOU ABSOLUTELY NEEDED TO GET IT RIGHT NOW) this would be far better [but not the best] than what you posted: https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-17-BS061ST-17-3-Laptop-Intel-i3-7100u-2-4GHz-1TB-SATA-8GB-DDR4-Windows-10/263680255536?hash=item3d64916630:g:~iYAAOSwEMxa9j8A%3A~iYAAOSwEMxa9j8A&afepn=5337259887&rmvSB=true

EDIT: Here are some above average deals that would satisfy your budget and would provide you with the best user experience. These laptops I can recommend wholeheartedly.

Vivo books are great for your use case. Only downside of this one is no SSD, but you could always get a 128gb one for $40 to replace the hard drive if you want the load speed and don’t need the space. If you do that route to get faster load times, you could just use the included 1tb HDD as an external drive for any photoshop files that get too big.

Hey,

How about the ASUS Vivobook F510UA? It has:

  • i5-8250U 4-core processor

  • 8 GB of RAM

  • 1 TB HDD storage

  • 1080p 15.6" display

  • Weight of 3.7lbs and battery life up to 5 hours

This laptop is not 2-in-1, it is a regular laptop. The laptop runs Windows 10 Home. The laptop will be great for schoolwork, League of Legends, and watching YouTube.

it's 499 and it's the best deal you will get.

Core i5 8th generation
8gb ddr4
1tb hdd
HDMI
USB-C, NanoEdge Display, Fingerprint

it should work fairly well for your uses and would probably last a long time too.

> zakładając że to już jest to co powiesz o tym komputerze?

Apple to firma która jak zauważyłeś korzysta z identycznych podzespołów co inne komputery.

Jedyny Mac z 2012 z i5 który znalazłem to ten:

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

Najważniejsze co dla mnie się liczy w pracy przy komputerze to ile mogę pomieścić pikseli i jak sprawnie te piksele będą wyświetlane. Na podanej stronie znalazłem najważniejsze elementy:

      Processor

  • 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB L3 cache

    Display

  • Supported resolutions: 1280 by 800 (native)

    Graphics and Video Support

  • Intel HD Graphics 4000

Jeśli to ten sam (MacBook Pro 13 calowy) to Apple sprytnie pominął jaki model procesora użyli, ale z dalszego poszukiwania zidentyfikowałem go jako 2,5GHz model i5-3210M [link].

Podsumowując: słaby procesor, mała rozdzielczość wyświetlacza i brak dedykowanej karty graficznej.

If you're not planning to do some gaming, then look into

Asus Vivobook F510UA or HP Pavilion 15

I prefer the Asus because of the nicer screen, but the HP is cheaper.

u/Michiganders · 4 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

It's not an awful deal, but it's also not great. Even if it were new, I still wouldn't be in love with it.

Two particularly disappointing aspects are the 802.11b wifi (compared to newer 802.11a, which has been standard for ~4 years now), and the 900p display.

I'd suggest most individuals spend a bit more for something like the Asus Vivobook or budget down to the Acer E 15.

For 600$ you can get her a dedicated Mx150 GPU, and for $650 she can have a 1050 Ti

$650 $600 $500 $400

Just remember everything below $600 does not have a discrete GPU, and the settings for sims might have to be turned down a decent amount.

(Or you could build a second PC for her, if she’s moved in with you ;) )

u/legacy3233 · 3 pointsr/ColoradoRockies

Can I get some opinions on this machine if anyone has one?

u/glymao · 3 pointsr/laptops

No. This is only worth $300. At $509 there is Asus F510UA that outrank this computer from virtually every perspective. You may even add a ssd for future upgrade.

u/elvinelmo · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Check out the ASUS VivoBook F510UA with its quad core CPU

  • 15.6" Inches FHD 1920 x 1080
  • Intel Core i5-8250U,
  • 8GB RAM,
  • 1TB HDD,
  • USB-C, NanoEdge Display, Fingerprint
  • 3.7 lbs

It has a solid build quality and is not too heavy. The only thing missing from this system is an SSD. 16 GB of RAM at this budget is not a reality unless you want a laptop that you will add extra RAM yourself
u/LonerIM2 · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

I would recommend this ASUS VivoBook F510UA because it comes with everything you need, i5 8th generation CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 8 GB of ram for smooth multitasking, 1 TB of HDD for storage, Full HD IPS screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, long battery life, and it is within your budget.

But if you can increase your budget a bit I would recommend this [Acer Swift 3](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0746P25QX/?tag=bkadamos_alltest-20
) because it comes with everything you need, i5 8th generation quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 8GB of ram for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 256 GB for faster boot up and loading, Full HD IPS screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, long battery life, lightweight, very good heat management, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU that should be able to handle the work you will be doing, but it is over your budget.

u/techstar2000 · 3 pointsr/LaptopDeals

If you can spend $9 over budget, this ASUS VivoBook F510UA would be a very nice pick. It comes with a decent 1080p display, 8th gen quad core i5 processor , 8 GB RAM and a huge 1 Tb hard drive for storage.

u/deong · 3 pointsr/wow

Honestly, I don't think it's possible to buy a laptop for under $500 that's actually better than saving a bit more and buying something better.

A quick bit of searching turns up this one for $550, which I think is the closest you're going to get. It has a Core i5, enough RAM, and a usable screen. I can't find anything else that does. It does have a spinning hard drive, which will make you long for death while you wait for anything to load, but that's not a solvable problem for close to $500.

But another commenter is correct as well. If you can live without portability, a $500 desktop puts you in a whole other class of options. You can buy a pretty solid desktop for $500, and you can improve it over time with better GPUs, etc.

For just web browsing, netflix and microsoft office you can get away with a chromebook. But for around your budget id suggest this. It's got the newest gen processor, good screen resolution, and plenty of memory. Only thing others may suggest is a SSD over the Hard Drive for faster boot times but imo its not a deal breaker. Im also not sure if this is available internationally or the price in Euro which is probably why you arent getting many responses. Best of luck!!

u/LapNerd · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

I would recommend ASUS VivoBook F510UA as it comes with: -

CPU: i5-8250U

GPU: Integrated

RAM: 8 GB

Display: FHD 15.6 ips screen

Storage: - SSD,1 TB HDD

Average battery life

It is a great choice because of its high build quality, along with its specifications makes it the best option for your usage and it is within your budget.

u/Ahmadhmedan · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

honestly for your usage that’s a very big budget especially if you’re not gaming. If I were you i would find a nice thinkpad (T lineup) or an asus zenbook of high specs.I’m not a programmer but I think .NET and visual studio code are what you’re using? And I think they are light even an I5 cpu would do the trick or an I7 of you want the extra power.Since you won’t be compiling a lot just choose any machine with the following:

1)I5 8th gen or i7 8th gen even the U series should do well. Those are available from every manufacturer.Don’t go for 7th gen u cpu’s they are just dated by this point and the difference is huge. Also if you are an amd fan the new ryzen 2500u + 2700u are great options with good graphics power and linux compatibility.

2)16 gb of ram or 8gb + an empty slot.Again every manufacturer has a model of those.
3)an ssd or an ssd empty slot are NECESSARY as you will want an ssd no matter what,Having an hdd plus the ssd is a welcome extra space but not an hdd alone.
Ideally go for 512ssd or 256ssd+hdd.

4)please stay away from nvidia cards under linux they are just so much work.

5)from this point on if my choices doesn’t fit your taste you know what specs to look for as nobody can tell you what the keyboard feels like and that is something you have to try yourself and is important because you will type A LOT.
Some options :

  1. pricey option : ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UAL

Looks like perfect for you but the battery life which I can’t judge.

2)this laptop from asus that you can upgrade with an ssd and extra ram(no idea about battery or keyboard quality): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0762S8PYM/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1524137187&sr=8-13&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=asus%2Bzenbook&th=1&psc=1

3)lenovo’s thinkpad lineup configurable via their website and all have great keyboards and nice battery life and supposedly great linux compatibility out of the box with all distros.

4)dell xps 13 which is pretty much the standard In laptop recommendations for work. configurable In the dell website.

5)the x1 carbon from lenovo is a rugged option.

6)hp elitebook 830 G5 customized from hp’s website seems like a damn great 13inches option but is a bit pricey around 1850$ for a full configured I5 model and it has only a 50wh battery so I can’t judge the battery life.

  2. the hp envy 13t looks like a nice option too, here is a review of it from laptop mag :
    https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/hp-envy-13t

There are some other options that I can’t think of right now and I may have stretched it with the pricing but you have a generous budget.A word of advice would be to find an option In the 1500$ range and save those 1000$ for upgrades as even top of the line notebooks will get old fast or don’t upgrade and by that time ~3 years you would have saved another 500$ or so and by a new notebook.Hope that helps have a nice day :)

I bought my GF what I thought was a good value laptop. It runs like garbage. Whenever I look at it, disk usage it at 100%.

I am considering throwing money at the problem by getting an SSD or M.2 drive. That is what UserBenchmark recommends after running one of their tests.

What do I try before I buy the drive to make sure it is not an internal problem and not a slow drive?

u/Faslane · 2 pointsr/hackintosh

Care to share some info and settings etc? I just got this bad boy for 509.00 and it has an 8th gen Intel it, full HD screen, very narrow bezel and I added a 500gb m.2 SSD and put 16gb ram in it. Would love to Hackintosh it lol. Only cons are the m.2 is not nvme and the keyboard isn't backlit but other than that a great machine with tons of upgradability (for a laptop) and a great price...I slapped a 2TB in it for storage and left the 500 m.2 SSD for OS and my Adobe Suite, Office etc etc. It's a great machine indeed. Came with a 1TB and 8GB ddr4 with an additional empty slot for up to 32gb (both ram slots can be upgraded to 16GB each of ddr4 2400)

For your low budget the vivobook will do the job, but it’s likely to be unstable as it’s recommended to have a dGPU for such usage.
if you are able to increase the budget the SWIFT 3 is an excellent choice with the MX150 Gpu card it will run smoothly.

This seems pretty good to me, good screen, relatively thin, and you won't find a faster cpu for this money.

u/ChewbaccaBreath · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

ASUS Vivobook? $800 there's a cheaper option too but it has an i7, 8gb DDR4 ram, 1080p screen, backlit keyboard and an SSD. Im assuming you mean you want something that's going to last 5 years and just gonna break it to you eventually the battery's going to need replacing at least as soon as you get a laptop the battery is dying. This should do everything you want and more but if you wanna save money maybe this Vivobook, don't buy the version with an SSD though you could easily add one for way cheaper.

u/C018Y_ · 2 pointsr/computers

For in between $500 and $550, I would take a look at the ASUS VivoBook F510UA. It's a 15.6" laptop with an i5-8250U, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, and is only 0.8" thick and 3.7lbs. Unfortunately, the configuration to add a 128GB SSD is an extra $100 for some reason, but if you aren't happy with the HDD's speed, it has an M.2 slot that you can utilize to add an SSD, or just remove the HDD altogether and put in a 2.5" SSD.

For me that would be the following 15.6" Asus Vivobook for $510. Thin bezels mean it is around the size of a 14" laptop and weighs in at 3.7lbs. It has a quad core i5-8250u CPU, 1080p IPS matte finish screen (not glossy), and the 1TB hard drive offers plenty of storage.

That's a piece of junk. Junk CPU (and a pretty ancient one at that, was released in 2012), junk GPU, not very much RAM.

We talking USD? $300 isn't much, but you should be able to do better than that hunk of junk. If you can save and stretch to maybe $500, that would give you a lot more options.

EDIT: Not terribly familiar with the US market, but a quick search on US Amazon brought up this laptop for $360 and this other laptop for $510. Both are much more recent, have much better CPUs, and more RAM than what you listed.

u/grokkingStuff · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

I'm guessing that the two of you are in college. Unless she's an 24/7 Excel wizard (if yes, lucky you!), get a cheap chromebook. Computers on campus should take care of everything and you'll be surprised how much gets done on google docs.

If it's a cheap laptop that must run Windows (perhaps if she has Windows-specific software), avoid Acer and HP at all costs. While most laptops in your price range are bound to break after the warranty period, Acer and HP are quite shit.

I'd recommend the Asus Vivobook - https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-i5-8250U-NanoEdge-Fingerprint-F510UA-AH51/dp/B0762S8PYM/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1531412344&sr=1-4&keywords=asus+vivobook. Seen a few people use it on my campus and they seem decent.

If that is the case the ASUS VivoBook F510UA would be the laptop to go with as it is below budget and offers the best vale for money. Its able to do everything you want to and it has a good display and build quality. To get that fast boot like (5 seconds) would need a laptop with an SSD though like the Acer Aspire E15 which would use up all your budget. You can add an SSD to the ASUS in the future though if you like

This one will stretch your budget a little bit but it's more premium. Much better CPU, slightly better GPU, better IO, and pretty much everything is better.

u/bor4etyy · 2 pointsr/laptops

Have you ever opened your laptop? As some brands used to solder the CPUs directly into the motherboard back in 2010. And that would literally make you unable to replace your CPU... If it is then ASUS VivoBook F510UA is one of the cheapest laptops that come with an 8th gen i5 intel CPU and will probably do the trick for you and later on you will also be able to get an SSD in as it has a socket for one I believe. If your CPU is not soldered on, it could be meaningful to upgrade, but you will have to find what's the CPU socket on your motherboard and then check for CPUs that use that same socket, as for swapping the HDD in 2010 the prevalent SSD interface was SATA II, which is about two times slower than a SATA III SSD you can buy for the ASUS I mentioned above.

u/SolidCalm · 2 pointsr/laptops

No doubts, get this. If too expensive, get this

u/Specop564 · 2 pointsr/Laptop

Where are you purchasing from?

For what you are doing you should favor CPU, Memory, and Storage (SSD)

https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-i5-8250U-NanoEdge-Fingerprint-F510UA-AH51/dp/B0762S8PYM/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1511901255&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+8250u

that is $500 without an SSD, has everything else.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-8250U-GeForce-A515-51G-515J/dp/B075KCJHMD/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511901295&sr=8-3&keywords=i5+8250u+mx150

This is $600 if you can wait for it to be in stock...

That has the latest 8th gen intel. So you will get lots of battery life, 8 threads for your CPU, and the second one has a decent dedicated GPU... meaning that if you want to do anything graphic intensive it is there... which is always the problem with laptops. It will help with overall image quality, media playback, and if you decide to do anything more.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a midrange laptop, about $500, and am thinking about getting the Acer Aspire E 15 for $515, with an i5-7200U/8GB RAM/940MX GPU/GB SSD. Seems like a solid option, and I can upgrade the RAM to 16gb later or add more storage if needed.

I'm also looking at the ASUS VivoBook F510UA for $500 with an i5-8250U/8GB RAM/1TB HDD @5400rpm, as that seems like a good deal as well, especially if I wanted to pay $100 more and install a SSD myself. Reviews seem subpar though.

The nicer option I'm looking at is the HP Pavillion Power for $600 w/ i5-7300HQ/gtx1050 2gb/1TB HDD/8GB RAM. Seems solid, especially since I can, once again, upgrade the ram and ssd if I desire later. A bit more than what I'd like to spend, but it does seem like a good deal.

Use case is mostly programming (for work), with some web and game design so I'd like nice-ish specs (hence my desire to be able to upgrade the ram to 16gb if needed). However, I don't want to go all out on my personal computer, as I may hopefully end up getting employed and have the employer help me with a work machine. Plus I have a sweet desktop for gaming myself already.

Any input is much appreciated.

/u/The---Technician -> you've been on top of it, so hopefully you don't mind a ping for help

Hi,

Based on your requirements I have made this noteb search

You can see and change the search parameters using the "Refine results" button in the upper-left part of the search results page. You can also click on the laptops for more information.

An option for you might be this one: Asus VivoBook F510UA (US) - Intel i5-8250U, Intel HD Graphics 620, 8GB DDR4, 1000GB HDD - 3.68 lbs, over 6H of battery life - you can find it on amazon from 510$ new and from 600$ with a SSD + HDD.

u/elevation_addict · 1 pointr/laptops

I bought an ASUS VivoBook F510UA on Amazon for $550 and was planning on continuing to use open source Darktable and GIMP for casual photo editing. My wife bought Lightroom and I like it way more than Darktable. However, Lightroom and Photoshop require a lot more RAM. While my computer is highly praised as a great performing value laptop, it's 8GB RAM causes delays when editing in Lightroom. From my research, the stock Intel i5-8250 processor is underserved by the RAM and HDD in this computer. Fortunately, you can upgrade the laptop to 32GB RAM and a M.2 SSD. Personally I'll be upgrading to only 16GB based on a recommendation by another user on this forum. Should cost $122. That should greatly improve performance for Lightroom and the computer will still be a great value at that price.

u/xekari · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Thanks for the suggestions.

The ASUS seems to have a better display, which isn't all that important to me, and is definitely the more lightweight option. But the Acer seems to be faster and more powerful, due to the SSD.

There is an option to add 128GB SSD to the Asus, which would bring the cost up slightly, but would that add enough speed to make it equal to the Acer?
I am planning to purchase in the next few days, so I really appreciate the assistance.

I wanted this Asus Vivobook to work, but the reviews mentioning the difficulty / nonsense needed to add an SSD and complaints about HDD speed worried me. 5400 RPM HDDs shouldn't exist as a primary drive in 2017. As I mentioned before I can, but don't want to get into the hardware if possible.

On the other hand both posted Acer models have the SSD and fairly good specs, but since Amazon groups their reviews together it's hard to pick out which one they're talking about. One of them might have screen quality problems and battery issues, but it's hard to tell which. Other Acer models, like the Swift 3 seem to have quality control issues as well.

In the end I found a promo code in one of the high up / pinned threads for a thinkpad e570 which is going to be my choice. I'm not thrilled at the lack of reviews on those models, but what I did find was generally positive.

^ This is the best option if you're looking for something new. It costs $550 and since it has a relatively new dedicated graphics card, it is more than enough for school/light gaming.

  • ASUS VivoBook F510UA

^ A newer version of your laptop that has the same CPU as the Acer, but has no SSD nor dedicated graphics. Is actually pretty sleek looking for the price. $509

  • Dell Inspiron 15 5000 5577

^ Much more powerful than the other two laptops but also older, and maybe not the best for school due to its bulk. Is much much much better for gaming. Most expensive one listed here at $655.49

  • HP elitebook 8470p

^ Cheapest laptop that can run minecraft with 40 to 60 fps. Is refurbished. Has good keyboard and surprisingly built like a tank, with the most metal out of all the laptops linked, but is also a bit bulky for school. Screen is only 720p screen like your current one. Way less powerful than other laptops but CPU is still an upgrade from your current. $263.99

I should have noted that I'm buying exclusively from amazon. This is like 100 dollars more for a downgrade in build quality, portability and aesthetics.

I did some research, the matebook D has dual channel memory to maximize vega 8 performance, and the fact that it's soldered is its only drawback imo. It also has a touchscreen which is neat.

I was specifically interesting to hear from people that have owned it for a while to see if any important issues popped up, but it looks solid.

If I don't go for this I will probably get them this

And slap in an m.2 for the OS. I don't like the fact that it's plastic and intel integrated graphics are way too weak compared to vega 8, but otherwise it looks good and is lightweight.

Honestly, unless some other good deal pops up I'll grab the matebook, looks too good to pass up I think.

If you want raw compute power, you can't go wrong with intel i5/i7 or amd ryzen 5 / ryzen 7. I like staying on latest gen, so that's what I chose for you.

Also, you didn't specify many other specs, so I defaulted...screen size to 15.6"hard drive size to 1TB+ram (memory) to 8-16GB

ASUS VivoBook i5-8250U CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD $510

Dell Inspiron 5570 i5-8250U CPU, 12GB RAM, 1TB HDD $520

Dell Premium Inspiron 5575 AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD $500

Black Friday "deals" are typically very bad for electronics since they just sell old models or special Black Friday models with lower specs.

What I did instead is simply change the filters on the Laptops page and sorted the laptops by price. Take a look yourself amazon laptops

General rule of thumb to get the newest/best laptops is to look for Intel i5 8xxx, Intel i7 8xxx, or AMD Ryzen 5, or AMD Ryzen 7, since those are the latest CPUs to come out.

When it comes to buying a laptop in $500 - $600 price range, 2 great laptops that come to my mind are:

  1. Acer Aspire E 15 - This is one of the best all-around performing budget laptop you can get right now. It comes with the newest 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB of SSD. What makes it impressive though is the dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU that it comes with. This is an entry level Nvidia GPU which aids a lot when you do something that requires more graphics power than the standard tasks.

  2. ASUS VivoBook F510UA - This laptop comes in two different variants, one is the basic $500 model which comes with 8th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD. The another one is $599 model which adds 128GB SSD to it. Both the models are great value according to me and its $599 model is a great choice for people looking for a laptop with more on-board storage.

So, if you want to spend around $500 then go with the ASUS VivoBook F510UA. But, if you're ready to spend $600 then Acer Aspire E 15 is better choice as it comes with dedicated GPU. As far as its little storage is concerned, it has two drive bays inside so you can put an HDD in it and increase the storage.

Acer Aspire E 15 also has a backlit keyboard which ASUS VivoBook F510UA doesn't have.

This one is also pretty nice https://www.amazon.ca/Asus-F510UA-AH51-VivoBook-i5-8250U-NanoEdge/dp/B0762S8PYM/ref=sr_1_18?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1540584504&sr=1-18&refinements=p_36%3A-75000%2Cp_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A7322346011

If you dont care about looks I would look for a local deal on a thinkpad.

Ok:

I've been searching around on US amazon, assuming its 500 USD.

I would say for streaming you need at least 8 gigs of ram and a pretty good processor, so like intel core i5..

Here's what I found:

Acer Aspire E 15

The reason being its pretty up to date, and it has an SSD. Also a dedicated graphics card. It's a bit over budget but I have one similar, and it works for game streaming so Audio streaming should not be a problem.

There is also a refurbished option for the same laptop:

Refurb E 15

which is just $10 over budget.

And lastly, I found the

ASUS VivoBook

It's the same price as the refurb E15 but it's brand new. Also it has USB C which neither of the previous options have.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the help.

Is this the same laptop you linked me? the one you linked me doesn't mention fingerprint scanner but this one does. They seem to be the same besides that and are the same price. Am I missing something?

You don't have to build a PC with liquid cooling or with flashing LED to be able to play games.
Do you buy your consoles components separately? No? Then why do you automatically think it is the case for a PC?

Also, Windows come free with any new computer, didn't know that?

Xbox One X ranges from what 300-500 USD depending on the package and size of storage?

Here, for around 500 USD:

  1. https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-i5-8250U-NanoEdge-Fingerprint-F510UA-AH51/dp/B0762S8PYM

  2. https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Performance-Quad-core-A12-9720P-processor/dp/B07BJ9T8XC/

Are they the best? Of course not. Can you play video games on it? Absolutely.

Besides, most people who have a console ALSO have a computer/laptop so you would need to combine the price of both to better compare.
u/bojas · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

I looked at that one but the price puts me off , and its graphics are a bit overkill. If I were to go with that one I think I’d just buy the ASUS VivoBook F510UA and get an m.2 with it.

How does the ASUS VivoBook compare? Does skimping on the SSD influence speed as much as upgrading processor and RAM?

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/laptops

This

Intel Core i5-8250U, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD (+256 SSD optional), Intel UHD 620 graphics

Right at £450 - Asus is well known and trusted brand. I have seen this model on several sites voted one of the best mid range laptops. Example

If you dig hard enough, you might even be able to find a better deal.

Also the RAM is upgradeable to 32gb and there is an SSD + HDD option for $50 more

u/xxkid123 · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

The i5-7200u laptop should be much faster. I don't see how the laptop with Radeon 530 graphics will bring anything to the table.

For the Intel laptop, you'll want to upgrade the RAM when you get the chance single single stick performance on integrated graphics is awful (adding a second stick of the same size will increase speeds around 10%+)

Now my question is, where are you buying from? These laptops you listed are pretty outdated. You can do a little better for $500 on Amazon

edit: $509 laptop with 8th gen intel https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-i5-8250U-NanoEdge-Fingerprint-F510UA-AH51/dp/B0762S8PYM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524370853&sr=8-2&keywords=mx150&dpID=41ep9XKCNHL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

$599 laptop that could play most newer games on medium-low, 720p https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-8250U-GeForce-E5-576G-5762/dp/B075FLBJV7/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1524370887&sr=1-3&keywords=nvidia%2Bmx150%2Blaptop&th=1

this laptop will probably drop to around $450 around blackfriday next year, and maybe on amazon prime day (sign up for the free trial and cancel when it's over). Chances are you can't wait half a year, but it's food for thought.

edit2: maybe you can find a used gaming laptop like an Acer Nitro on /r/hardwareswap? You'd be buying used so make sure to go through paypal Goods and Services

This one is only $10 more and is a pretty good value. 3.7 pounds and the newer i5-8250u

If you're really tight, I'd recommend aspire and put in another stick of ddr4 memory and an ssd. 5.6 pounds my bad.

Sorry, about your back.

Looks like your post was auto-removed (and is still removed, only the mods can see it right now), because of URL shorteners. Replace your links with https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-8250U-GeForce-A515-51G-515J/dp/B075KCJHMD/ and https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-i5-8250U-NanoEdge-Fingerprint-F510UA-AH51/dp/B0762S8PYM/ (unshortened & affiliate link codes removed) and it won't fall under the filter anymore.

The ASUS uses a slow HDD as the boot drive, and it seems the Acer uses a low-quality-TN display. This one for $50 more has an SSD with better display and also longer battery life: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-8250U-GeForce-E5-576G-5762/dp/B075FLBJV7/

Try the Asus f510ua? It doesn't have a backlit keyboard though.

I was looking at this as well it just didn't have have enough hard drive space for me. I was looking for 500gb at minimum.

I'm probably gonna just buy the ASUS VivoBook F510UA and purchase a portable hard drive to go along with it. My main PC has a optical drive in it as well just in case I really need to use one. I only ever used that one about 2-3 times as well so maybe I won't be using it as much as I thought. Just a little nervous to take the final step of going without an optical drive.

Asus vivo book

Excellent build quality. Excellent full hd ips display with small bezels. Latest best processor. very thin and light weight. Plus there is a slot inside to put a msata m2 ssd. It is within your budget, but it wont have warranty in India due to importing.

It has indian versions with warranty but I couldnt find another one at same price

u/NotAsianGenius · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

I wouldn't say it's too heavy, assuming ~5 lbs is light for you

Do you have any preference in keyboard so I can explain? Trackpad worked fine for me, it does use Windows Precision Drivers.

If you want to trade for integrated (tbf, 940mx isn't really a huge upgrade above integrated imo, but it allowed me play rb6 at 1280x720 res with low settings) and a ssd for an hdd, the vivobook is $500

I have a 600$ (You can find it cheaper in US i think) Huawei Matebook D , AMD ryzen 2500U 8Gbs Ram and 250 SSD. , its a well build machine unless you care too much about the huawei drama.
