Most people here have already said it, but a nice set of headphones and a clip-on microphone is the way to go. I have a pair of Sennheiser headphones I was able to pick up on sale at Best Buy and a clip-on mic I found at Radio Shack.

Two thoughts on your post:

  • Consider buying a mouse with a side mouse button, you can simply use your thumb to enable push-to-talk

  • Don't go for a "Gaming Headset", like other people have mentioned here. I've never bought one that I didn't have to return within a week.

A desk mic seems preferable. I'm used to a headset though, I'll ask my friend how he likes his clip mic and go off of that. Thanks for the help man! What about this?

I was having issues with table top mics for a while but I've converted to this one mounted to my monitor.

With $130 you can probably have everything. Don't get a headset, they are overpriced for being "gaming". I use this mic

I've had one friend say it sounds a little fuzzy, but no one else has said it sounds bad at all.

Then get a decent pair of headphones, I can't suggest a pair, I use speakers, but I do know open back headphones are great. Though other people can hear them, so if you need headphones to not disturb others, it might not be a good decision.

As for mouse, I got a G502 and it's awesome, but it didn't make me play any better tbh. With your budget I would buy things in this order - headphones > mic > mouse.

those sennheiser dont have microphones but you can use them to listen or use them in conjunction with a separate microphone, example:

to use the bluetooth headset you need a bluetooth for the PC.

or PC specific headset, nothing else required.

I wouldn't get a headset, due to the markup. You're better off buying a separate headphone and mic.

You could get something like this with either this or this.
