First I completely agree with you on all the points you have brought up.

A couple of chargers that have worked for me are Anker and the one liked below, there are a few Anker ones linked on the Amazon page in the same.

Can't go wrong with this one. Aukey makes some quality stuff. My Nexus gains 40-50% of battery on my 20 min drive to work with this.

I bought this one. No issues, works great, QC/Fast Charge works perfectly.

Great deal! Also got this car charger together. ($5.99 with code CZO24P8M) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LJT2EPK/

I use this in my car and this for work/travel and they both charge quickly. The second one is currently out of stock but the build and functionality of the brand is fairly good. It fiddles around for the first five seconds saying TurboPower connected/disconnected but stays charging afterwards. Plus, you can get good deals on both of those with the offers underneath them.

Edit: Have been using both since November with no problems.

I have this one and I love it

Seconded for Aukey. I have this and this and they both work very well with no issues. Also purchased this and this and they are great as well. You can usually find promo codes for Aukey devices on Amazon.

I've been using this Aukey one for about a year now. Works great and is built very well.

2.1a is the universal fast charger you'll see around. Doesn't rely on any fancy standards or anything. Quick Charge 2/3 and Samsung Fast Charge are standards developed that some phone support. It increases voltage to allow an even faster charge, with better efficiency. Personally I think they're quite invaluable, but again require both phone and charger to support it. This is an example from a company I use. The green is a standard 2.4A port, the Orange is a Quick Charge 2 port. I don't know which country you're in, but that's an example, you may be able to find cheaper and more local.

u/DooDooBrownz · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

i have that set up. if nothing is plugged into the 12v adapter it doesn't draw power. 2 years so far without any battery related issues.

I use a regular 12v socket instead of the USB because i use a quickcharge charger with my phone because gps and screen on full brightness + data really drains the battery and normal chargers can't keep up.

u/gusgizmo · 2 pointsr/AskEngineers

Get a real car charger. This is not an engineering problem.

u/SirRipo · 1 pointr/MotoX

This is the one I've been using - it's pretty great, slightly slower than the stock charger but connects as turbopower and it charges quickly.

u/tinmansam1122 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS6

Don't. I have one, and it's a great phone, no doubt. But wish I'd waited for S6 active or S7. Battery life with battery saving off is terrible, and performance with battery saving on is poor. S7 has bigger battery, removable storage and is waterproof.

But, if you must have S6 edge, get a case or bumper because if you manage to grip it without a case, you'll tap things you don't mean to tap... and you'll definitely drop it frequently.

Also, if you are in the car as much as me (ave. 60 miles a day) get a car charger with quick charge 2.0 because you'll need it. The QC 2.0 chargers are WAY cheaper than the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging chargers and they do the same thing (this one is awesome https://amzn.com/B00LJT2EPK). YOU WILL NEED A FAST CHARGER ON HAND AT ALL TIMES if you use it without battery saving turned on... which you will because battery saver sucks.

Get at least the 64 gig because no SD...

I think that's it

u/tlingitsoldier · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I'll use this to ask a question I've been having trouble finding a clear answer to:

I have a Pixel XL, and I use the USB-C to USB-A cable that came with the phone to charge it in my car. I have a Quick Charge 2.0 plug that I've been using with my Nexus 6 up until now.

Does the fact that Quick Charge is different than USB PD mean it will only charge at slower speeds? Or can USB PD recognize the higher amperage levels, and push those safely to the phone? Would it actually charge faster in the 2.4A plug, rather than the QC2.0 plug?

u/meandrunkR2D2 · 1 pointr/samsung

Here's a list of chargers that I have bought and used from Amazon that work with the fast charging.

Car Charger 1

Car Charger 2 This model isn't available, but they have more updated versions out there that I'd have no doubt work great.

Wall Charger 1

Wall Charger 2

Wall Charger 3 It's no longer available, but I still have it and it works great to this day.

As you can tell, I like to have plenty of chargers around, and most of them are connected to the wireless fast charge pads. The only problems I ever had were cable related and how I found out that not all cables are built the same to handle the fast charge.

u/justec1 · 1 pointr/Android

Was using the Moto stock charger in the 110v outlet of my pickup for a while. Then got the Aukey 30W charger. I'm pretty happy with it. Also have a couple Aukey 5-port chargers for my desk and my travel bag. Again, happy with the performance.

u/Cboozler · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

Can I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LJT2EPK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with an A-C cable and not worry about damaging the phone? I bought it ~2 years ago and can survive with a slower car charge if I have the good ones at home.

Any idea which port I should be using on that?

u/omgpliable · 1 pointr/MotoX

http://www.amazon.com/Aukey-Charger-Adapter-AIPower-Included/dp/B00LJT2EPK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1449082385&sr=8-3&keywords=aukey+quick+charger - I bought this car charger and it works great. It'll TurboCharge it and everything. My phone ends up being about 50% by the time I'm done with work, so I use this on my commute home (about 30+ mins) and it charges it up almost to 100% by the time I get home.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013HSQXZC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 - Bought this for travel. It's a little bit finicky, like sometimes it won't say "TurboCharge Connected" when you first plug it in, but unplugging and replugging usually does the trick. Definitely doesn't charge as fast as the car quick charger, or the included AC adapter, but it still seems to charge at a pretty decent rate, easily the fastest I've seen out of any battery pack I've ever used.

u/TeamTaeyeon · 1 pointr/MotoX

I use this works just as fast as the 25w. Which I assume is about the same as that.

u/utmeggo · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

Yeah, my car charger worked great for my s6, but doesn't work with my s7.

u/TheRealBigLou · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

No, that's not really a great deal.

I can get all those on Amazon for much cheaper:

Samsung Fast Wireless Charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012AWBN9C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_3&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Aukey QuickCharge 2.0 Car Charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LJT2EPK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A1KWJVS57NX03I

Anker 10,000 mAh Battery Pack: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009USAJCC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A294P4X9EWVXLJ

Aukey 10,400 mAh Battery Pack with QuickCharge 2.0: http://www.amazon.com/10400mAh-Portable-External-Battery-Qualcomm/dp/B00UBDI7EC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457454657&sr=8-1&keywords=quick+charge+2.0+battery+pack

Grand total: $82.98 $80.98 with free 2-day shipping.

And that's if you don't get more affordable options like the Choetech wireless charger for $30 or a myriad of cheaper battery packs. I, however, specifically listed brands that can 100% be trusted.

u/IDwannabe · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I I have this one that I bought over a year ago for when I had my Nexus 6. I use a usb to usb-c cable and either port charges adequately.

I might recommend this one that will allow you to use your longer usb-c to usb-c cable.

u/CSG_Mike · 1 pointr/ft86

I use an Aukey 2 port that does Qualcomm QC on one port and 2.1A on the other one.

https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Samsung-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B00LJT2EPK

Wireless charging is fine, but any bump that makes the phone move and/or "jump" will break the connection and reset.

FYI the Qi charger on the CH-R/Prius Touring/Prime barely work for my S8+ because the phone is physically too tall.

u/rextraverse · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Wondering if the sunlight heating the phone might be an issue.

I'm currently using this Aukey charger with the 6P plugged into the 2.4A port with a USB-A to C cable, and I have had no issues with the phone charging (let alone maintaining charge) while using either Google Maps or Waze.

The difference is I have my phone in a CD slot cradle, so it's out of direct sunlight and the AC is usually blowing nearby so the back of the phone remains cool even after hours of Maps (and Pocketcasts bluetooth streaming) while charging.

u/dinkss · 1 pointr/droidturbo2

I have this one from Amazon Quick Charge 2.0 AUKEY Dual-Port Car Charger $16 and works great

u/installyerslap · 1 pointr/CarAV

They make 12v ones you can just throw on a female cig socket. Like a so.

Edit: weird link formatting

Edit 2: are you wanting a flush mount for the final port?

u/zosis · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

They could, if it takes that long to charge the S7E it likely is quite low power output. A lot of the ports in cars were designed for older phones or those with smaller batteris like the iPhone. Not really a lot you can do if that's the case and want to use that port. Car adapters aren't that much if you do need fast charging though.
