I must admit I am terribly lost with it all, ive tried to OC my ram a few times and it always just brings BSOD. always driver crashes of irql less than or something. I have a 6700k oc'd to 4.5ghz and if I set xmp on my ram (this kind here) it boots fine but as soon as I stress my computer it dies. I had given up hope of getting the extra speeds I paid for, sadly enough I don't know all the bells and settings on my asus' z170-a bios to figure it out.
now I just leave it default clocks because that's better than BSOD :(

I need some RAM and GPU to finish a build. I'm looking for 1060 6gb performance and 16gb ddr4 RAM. Unfortunately I have about $450-500 to spend so im probably gunna be looking used.
I did find this for the RAM, seems like a steal for $128 but i have no idea when itll ship and i need the computer in the next 2 weeks.
If I find an 8gb and 4gb stick with matching specs will they dual channel?
As for the GPU are the 290x/390/390x good alternatives to the 1060 knowing they use more energy and output more heat? I realise the mining has caused their price to increase but what would be a good price
