First, learn Hebrew. I'm unaware of any Aramaic textbook that doesn't already assume competency with Hebrew. I found the Pratico and Van Pelt book to be quite helpful.
It's a fascinating language. There's an inner logic common to the construction of Semitic languages – Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic, Coptic, Geez.
Give yourself a day or two to learn the alphabet, and spend a month or three working through Basics of Biblical Hebrew and its workbook. You may not become a theology superhero, but you may discover a world of cool studies in the history of the various Judaisms over the last few millennia, plus (if this kind of thing turns you on) engaging with scholars about ancient Bible interpretations and commentaries, the development of the Septuagint and Old Greek text traditions, and understanding how some of the differences between your King James and your Orthodox Study Bible came about.
Probably won't help you fast, pray, love your wife, or feed the poor. But for at least some people, nerdiness is life :-)
