I've been using this for over a decade, and just recently bought a new one last summer when one of the blades broke. There's a table that you can get to go on top.

Just be smart about the umbrella you buy. If it's a flimsy one it doesn't matter how well it's anchored

As a tip for beach-goers, get a sand screw/auger. My parents have this one or one similar to it. Even on windy days, the umbrella stays put.

There are a lot of umbrella anchors out there and most suck... My parents (who live at the beach in NC) have gone through a bunch. Eventually they found one that had really wide screw threads and long enough that you can sink it deep.

The one linked on Amazon apparently has gone down in quality with the torque rod going from sturdy 1/2" PVC to something flimsy and the set screw is cheap plastic. But a cunning person can easily remedy those shortcomings.
