Use the control pad along with the A and B buttons for a familiar experience when playing Nintendo Entertainment System gamescomfortable to hold, even during extended gaming sessionsController is wired and connects directly to the WiimoteColor: White; Size: HandheldPackage Contents: 1 x Classic Wii Controller
Wii Classic Controller (or the Classic Controller Pro, which I haven't used, but it looks more comfortable.) with one of these adapters. It plugs the classic controller directly in to USB, so no wiimote, bluetooth, glovePIE, etc is required. It even supports 2 controllers at once so you can co-op some Battletoads without having 2 adapters.
you can also try a classic controller since you already have a wiimote
You can use a Wii classic controller, not a classic NES controller, unless I misread or missed something.
You're getting the classic confused with the GameCube controller here. GameCube Controllers with the adapter can only be used for Smash. Classic Controllers (also 3rd party ones like PDP Fight Pad) plug into the bottom of wii remotes (in place of the nunchuck) and can be used with most Wii and Wii U games.
Also, check out the Controller Infographic link on the side bar.
You can try this, for just under 10 bucks: https://www.amazon.com/Zettaguard-Classic-Controller-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B003ANMB6A/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1496012451&sr=1-3&keywords=wii+classic+controller
I believe it's the same one I use, though it could be an off brand.
Nope it's a bit more complex than that.
List of "Classic" controllers:
So far I've only played Xenoblade on the gamepad. All Wii games still use the Wiimote. None will let me use the WiiU gamepad. I'm currently using the original classic controller.
A classic controllor/ or classic pro plugged into the back of the Wii remote. Also these could work.
From my knowledge, you cannot use the adapter with the WiiU when it is in Wii mode. Your only other option would be the Wii Classic Controller or Wii Classic Controller Pro
I came here to say this as well. One of the sites I used to use when I originally hacked my wii is wiibrew.org.
Something else to add to hacking your console is to get yourself a wii classic controller. It will make playing snes and most sega games a lot better than using the wii remote.
There are a number of controller made by Nintendo for both systems.
Wii:
Wiimote + Nunchuk
Wii Classic Controller
Wii Classic Controller Pro
Wii U:
Wii U Gamepad
Wii U Pro Controller
All are made by Nintendo. Just what I could think of off the top of my head, I may be missing some for either system.
