I'm not sure if there's a difference, but a prescription Benzaclin (clindamycin and BP) is what cleared up my face. My insurance soon stopped covering it so rather than jumping from one prescription to another constantly, I tried out this from amazon and it has kept me just as clear. There are very few extra ingredients, so it hasn't bothered me. I just load up on CeraVe and apply this all over after a couple minutes and it's been quite effective without drying me out.
