If you are working on things that get scratched easily, make sure to also buy a non-marring jaw cover for the vise! they're made out of some type of rubber or plastic and won't ruin your "stuff." Something like this.
Instead of buying a mag block I just got some soft plastic vice jaws off of Amazon. Worked perfectly fine for the lower build and I've used them for multiple other applications besides gun building since I bought them.
