Pre-Nazi Germany refers to the time between WWI and WWII, when fascism and nationalism were ascendant in Europe generally, and Hitler was ascendant in Germany specifically. If you're interested in learning more about the subject, this is a pretty good book that covers the period in some detail.
Did a quick search for it on Amazon. Looks like there are a ton of books with that title. I assume this is the one you had in mind, correct? If so, it looks good, but it seems to cover a broader territory than I had in mind. It's mostly Weimar Germany that I'm after, but maybe I'll read this one to help understand the context of whatever book(s) I read about Germany.
