That was Principles. His new book is less focused on the abstract. Read the first chapter or two on Amazon's look inside feature. Or at least the preface. The whole book is free. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07GLBHM48 It's interesting enough. I did some part-time contractor work sporadically for Bridgewater for a few years and it's a mostly normal environment in terms of corporate culture. His Principles book was new at the time. I have a few physical copies myself. I'm not so sure if it is or ever was some sort of cult-like robotic directive that the employees adhere to. A coworker of mine recalled a time he saw an employee in flip flops absorbed Minecraft at his standing desk. Cash Rules Everything Around Me was very prominently written on the top of one of their largest whiteboards in one of the central areas for weeks. We're all human. I witnessed plenty of mismanagement.
I read that, but I am little worried that the data points Pattu worked on are a short duration. It might not tell the true picture. as /u/pablo_cachu suggested Ray Dalio is big on gold. His recent book Big Debt crisis(b.t.w you can get it on free from his site) has covered vast amount of history.
Big Debt Crisis is free as PDF or for kindle you can download it free from Amazon. Great read.
