I was a bit too young at the time, but this book documents it pretty darn well.

If I had my copy with me, I'd give you the exact page/paragraph, but it's covered in there in excruciating detail.

Blood Feud - It's about the Wings/Avs rivalry. Really good read.

Have you read Dater's book called "Blood Feud"? That is a pretty damn good book. Regardless of what you think of his articles, I highly recommend it and I'm not a big Dater fan either. If this new book is even only half as good as Blood Feud, it will still be worth the read.

Another book to add would be Adrian Dater's Blood Feud. Great information about the Avs-Wings rivalry.

How about Blood Feud: Detroit Red Wings v. Colorado Avalanche: The Inside Story of Pro Sports' Nastiest and Best Rivalry of Its Era

I haven't read it myself, but it's on my list. Maybe someone here can comment?

Everything this guy said is true.

As for a history on the Red Wings vs Avalanche rivalry of the late 90s/early 2000's I read this book and found it very entertaining and gave me insight into a lot of "behind the scenes" sort of things you don't usually hear about.
