Some times the animal is put in a specially made cage like a fish aquarium, so the animal thinks it's in a burrow but it's really in a giant glass cage and a normal camera can film from the outside.

Or even hidden cameras in a artificial den that's made to look like a real den.

You may notice plastic debris, but if you do hot oil changes you might not. The plus side of springs is that they don't really wear out (when you get good ones).

You might be able to pop off a valve cover and stick a cheap USB bore scope in there and give it a look.

I have used it many times to inspect walls and ceilings before drilling fireblocks or cutting drywall.

I tape it to fishtape or fiberglass sticks and snake it where I need it. The only issue I have is the light on this one isn't as good as I wanted..But it's OK. I just use a well placed flashlight when I really need good light.

It's pretty cool, and a third the price of a plumber showing up, saying "hi", and leaving. However, it has a fixed focal length.

I would start by looking at the water situation outside the house. Are the downspouts moving water to at least ten feet from the foundation? Is your soil graded away from the house? Is the soil near the house well drained? If not, adding that french drain won't hurt.

If you actually dropped the clip down the ports, that motor is going to need a rebuild. Here's a cheap endoscope you can get that hooks up directly to your phone.You'll need to take a look to see what's really going on.

At this point, you have two options (on the assumption that the clip is in there and doing damage). You can either get yourself a junkyard 5.3 and swap it out (definitely the cheapest option), or undertake a rebuild.

N.B. Let this be a lesson to anyone else reading that isn't already aware. Always plug your ports when working on a motor. I use shop towels, works pretty good and doesn't leave behind a lot of fibers. If you don't, it could easily cost you your entire motor.
