There are Impact drivers or normal drills with adjustable clutches that slip when the torque is too high. I use them for work all the time.

I'll second what some folks here have said: get a drill/impact driver combo and a reciprocating saw. Drill/driver are the most used power tools any homeowner has and the recip saw is perfect for demo work with your fixer upper.
Talking brands, there's a lot of options, but I would attempt to stick with a quality brand like Bosch, Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt or maybe Ridgid. You can likely get a deal on a drill/driver combo kit with a couple batteries and charger and then buy the recip saw as a bare tool (no batteries) to save some cash.

I really think your money is better spent on a combo then. Brushless technology is great, but it's overkill for you.
Unless you are going to need to set anchors in cinder block, I don't think you would need a hammer drill. Just a regular drill. Just decide what brand you want and go for it.

This is the one I've been looking at. Whatever I buy will likely dictate future brand of other cordless tools. Is there something else you would recommend in this price range? I'd be willing to go up to $200 for a drill/impact driver combo set.
