Yesss light up doggies are a godsend/dogsend!
My only gripe with the clip-on lights are that you can only see it if it's facing you. You may say that the general glow of the light whether its facing you or not will be visible, but my dog is often sniffing the ground, a bush, or grassy areas, which absorb the light (it falls forward so is very close to the ground.)
I prefer the LED trim to size rubber collars for that reason. She wears it in addition to her normal collar at night only. You cannot use it as a standalone collar because it is a break-away style.
I also bought another LED nylon style for my parent's dog which has light all the way around that you can use as a regular collar clipped to a leash. Only reason I don't use this one normally is it way too big for their 10lb dog!
