Don't be a dick. There have been a large number of publications/resources released in the last six years. Not all of them are reliable or even still relevant. Most of us know which books or resources helped us and can name them very easily, which is why he's asking us.

This is not the place to try and impress your buds with how crass you can be to complete strangers.

Bulletproof Web Design and CSS3 For Web Designers are wonderful resources. As for javascript I've heard good things about JavaScript: The Definitive Guide, 4th Edition, despite the author getting in a huff about pirated versions of the book when it launched.

Otherwise just keep up to date with A List Apart, Smashing Magazine, or any other design blog. Follow the authors that write articles you like and update yourself that way. I don't always use what I read, but I've definitely remembered an article I read which helped me fix an otherwise complex problem.

You should read Bulletproof Web Design by Dan Cederholm. The expandle rows chapter comes to mind, among others.
