Hmm good point. I can get them around 3 times but from your description of your hair I think yours is probably thicker than mine.

What about these "burlybands"?
I have super thick curly hair. Those Walmart ties make it about 2 minutes before snapping. One Christmas my friend got me some BurlyBands and I've never had anything else since.
Sucks that they cost more and it irritates me alot when I lose one, but they do work.
