Here's a few of mine that I really like. I have way more than these, but I'm not sure I'd recommend all of them, per se. Anyhow, should give you some ideas.

Security - Talks about small unit tactics with small arms and so forth.

Butchering and cooking wild game - If you hope to hunt for food, you gotta know what to do with it after shooting it.

SAS Survival Guide - Really tiny dimensions that make this easy to toss in my BOB.

Composting - If you plan to garden, you're gonna need to compost. I also have various gardening books such as container gardening, organic gardening, gardening according to the Mormons, etc. The Mormons have a lot of great homesteading-oriented books. Here's one called The Forgotten Skills of Self-Sufficiency Used by the Mormon Pioneers

Bushcraft - Never hurts to learn some knots and be able to make simple things out of natural materials.

Organization and Planning - I'm reading this one now. Touches on a lot of areas of things to think about that you gotta plan for. A good amount of stuff I hadn't really thought about before.

I've been comparing "The Complete Book of Camping" to "Bushcraft 101". Both of these are great resources and are fairly similar conceptually. Obviously, there are some differences seeing as "The Complete Book of Camping" was published in 1966 and "Bushcraft 101" was published in 2014. To answer your question, yes and yes. This would be a good book for both collection purposes and being used if you found yourself lost in the woods.

I liked Dave Canterbury's Bushcraft 101. I thought it started from zero and started working up well. I've also purchased his other two books in this series and enjoyed both of them as well. Pretty much everything in his books he has a good youtube video on already too so you can really see what he is talking about in real time and then keeping the book with you to refresh the steps has been really helpful when I was starting out.

Start by reading the SAS Survival Handbook or Bushcraft 101 by Dave Canterbury. They talk about useful techniques and the gear you should have.

Take either one out into the backyard or whatever and practice. Once you become more comfortable in self reliance take a weekend out in the bush and practice some more.

There's also a lot of educational youtube videos out there. wildernessoutfitters has a lot of content if video is more your thing.

I see some holes in your loadout and hope that’s not your complete loadout. If you haven’t already, I’d seek out some quality advice on what you’ll probably need and how to use the items. This book may not be perfect for what you’re doing but it has tons of useful info. Beware of the advice you take on here. Plus, watch plenty of YouTube videos as there are so many out there. The author of the book linked below has 100’s that span across a wide variety of subjects. Start there. Educate and empower yourself as much as you can. It’s not difficult to do. Have fun too!
