Most ranges I go to have rubber tees that are too short or too tall. This allows me to set it to the height I want. Just don’t forget it at the range like I did once.
Uniform, level surface with guaranteed consistency. I use the mats for working on my driver/woods and bring one of these with me so that I can use real tees.
I also like the mats when working on shorter chips and wanting to just dial in a groove and work on the consistency of my short chip/punch stroke. I like the grass when working on longer pitches and irons up to full iron shots.
My local grass area isn't particularly flat so it doesn't really emulate being on a tee box very well. They also don't keep the grass short enough to emulate the fairway. It's more of a "first cut" grass length.
