If it's going in the car, you should consider adding a glassbreaker. My 3 D-cell maglite has one of these on the end and the weight of the maglite makes breaking glass incredibly easy with this thing.
Any word on if he stole the jeep in a carjacking? a late model car is not something you can just hotwire anymore.
