Not really. I still think of smoking all the time despite having quit for 3 years now. But I now see it as a destructive and unproductive habit and can easily say no to any opportunity to smoke.
Quitting smoking is like getting out of a bad relationship. Even after years of ending the relationship, you may look back at the disappointing experience, but you never mope about it or get back into another bad relationship just for the thrill of it. Smoking has been a big part of your life—and you will always be aware of it—but this doesn’t mean that smoking has to be a big part for the rest of your life. You learn from the experience and grow. I decided to turn my otherwise wasted time, health, and money into a useful resource for other smokers with my book.
