Agree. Maybe? These are cool (you can still buy them) because they are self-extinguishing and burn for a predictable amount of time depending on how many inches of candle rope you unwound.

These were also used as "courting candles." When a young gentleman came to call upon your daughter, you'd unwind maybe an hour or two of candle and light it. When the candle goes out, time for the suitor to go home.
