My blue is going to be 3 later this year and, while not a rescue (have had him since he was 7 weeks old), he has never barked. To this day I can count on one hand how many times a bark-like sound has come out of his mouth and it startles him every time like he has no idea where the sound came from. I trained him to ring the bells at the door when he wanted to go out because to this day he won’t make a sound.
