Is THIS what you have? I couldn't find a "Sony" CX-TV6 that you mention in your post.
It is powered by 12V from either the AC adapter, car power outlet, or batteries. From that 12V supply, connect this to get the 5V required for the pi:

You should have no problem removing the battery compartment and powering everything off the 12V from the AC power supply.
Should be gaming with one of these instead for a more authentic experience.
