The L and XL aren't very different in the waist but the XL is bigger through the shoulders/wider. the slim fit polo is very flattering... https://www.amazon.com/Comfortably-Collared-Perfect-Shirt-Large/dp/B06Y512MQR as my V-shape gets more V-ish, these fit better and better.
