How is the locker room and community there? The women's locker rooms I've seen tend to be (relatively) free from theft. It might be worth buying one to leave there or asking the gym if they'd spring $15 for one that stays on-site.
Or my sister has this little guy - it's the smallest one I've used with enough power to dry my hair.
Could always buy a small portable one throw it in your gym bag

For me, my goal was 1. small space for international travel (must fold), 2. power.
Getting something that small that also produces heat will be challenging, because heat requires a lot of energy to produce.
