My friend has and loves their Conair one. They're under $40 and easy to find on Amazon and the like. I believe this is her exact model? The only downside is that it's a tiny bit small for doing makeup/hair/everything, but if you're in an apartment, small is usually better. There's also a battery-powered model as well, and they both seem to have pretty great reviews.
EDIT: This one is gorgeous, but definitely on the pricier side, though still under $100.

Usually they have a regular side, a magnified side, and a light.
Now that I have a vanity, I STILL use that lighted mirror for detail work.
